Yes, because as what I know the bootrom can't be patched with firmware updates

i guess it could depend on how you first execute the exploit that may work on some firmware versions and not others?

Wow...this derailed quikly.

Ahem...hacking the wiiu speculation aside...what is there to be expected from this explicit hack? Is this the setup for a project to create new Mario levels (kind of like Newer SMBW and about a dozen custom roms at this point on the wii)? Is this the framework/library so that those who wish to make such a custom mod can do so? Is it mainly the gathering of such a team? I don't know, but I am curious.

I don't know how are we supposed to port Newer's custom sprites so the answer is No for now

No

Sort of... how about making a team to hack NSMBU?

Damn the mods, I missed the drama, what did he say?

Also this is pretty cool, do you have your own exploit or are you using an existing one?

No, we(at least I) want to hack the game itself

Not every "coming soon" should be a lie, get it?
By hack the game do you mean like custom levels etc? If so then that's awesome.I loved all the ones on the wii and ds that people made

Oh my goodness you guys. For the game files to be edited first the formats themselves have to be reversed. You could at least show an interest in that or celebrate public ROM hacking before getting uppity about the currently unknown ways to implement modified files. It'll happen in a few years probably but all that is not what the OP is about.

Lemme debunk a bunch of the stuff in this thread
1) What's the point?
To make an editor, it doesn't matter if you can't actually test the modified files, I'm working on an SM3DW map editor just because it's fun and worth my time. Abood's from RVLution which has been the hub for derps who wanna use Reggie to make NSMBW levels, and some of them apparently really want an NSMBU editor, which is what I'm kinda helping with too - integrating NSMBU into Reggie Next (basically just giving advice right now but still helping) and AFAIK Abood has nothing to do with it.
2) You have a new exploit?
No, not at all. He's trying to look smart by mentioning the vWii bootrom MN1 and I dumped forever ago, there's no new exploit to load files or whatever. He obviously has no idea what he's talking about and has done no prior research, considering he doesn't know what MSBT and other formats are, basically everything he knows he got by looking at all the files with SARCExtract.

Even though you can't plat test modified levels. But think of it this way. You get to find beta/unused content.

What on earth is going on here? By hacking I mean "custom levels", and hunting for unused contents(most of them were found by skawo)
Abood's from RVLution which has been the hub for derps who wanna use Reggie to make NSMBW levels.....

wait what?

Me too.
has nothing to do with it.

What is it?
2) You have a new exploit?
No, do you? You/We have to shut up for a while.

It's not about "trying to look smart", but, didn't that happen?
considering he doesn't know what MSBT and other formats are

Yes I do. But I'm still making some researches without people's help
basically everything he knows he got by looking at all the files with SARCExtract.

Used that only one time, suck on that

hah, hilarious.
