Alright, I decided to make an account for real time help. Sorry if this is the wrong section and please let me know if any rules are broken.

Lately my Wii has been collecting dust and I have decided not long ago to add the homebrew channel after looking through YouTube and finding out that it is relatively simple. I also have BootMii as Boot 2 and have Priiloader

It was a success and the first thing I did was add emulators and everything worked fine. The other day I decided I wanted to back up my games and decided to follow HighTeckMans instructional video on how to install the USB Loader GX. Once I did everything he said I then went and got a Lexar S50 Jumpdrive USB to see if it worked.

<------------------------- HighTeckMan's Video for USB LOADER

^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I used this guide above to help me format my USB to Fat32 and '32768' as Allocation unit Size. I also saw that the usb loader files given by HighTeckMan were a little outdated so I replaced the boot.dol with the newer version for the USB LOADER GX. I used the (USBLoader_GX_V3_0_AllinOnePackage_IOS249)
From there I plugged in my USB and saw it didn't work. It would not even show the percentage bar. It was partially frozen and basically not working. The USB was in the right port also. Bottom of the edge when properly horizontal.
I then decided to follow a more updated tutorial on YouTube thinking maybe the cIOS was the problem . Again this didn't help and was baffled. Also CleanRip 2.0 by emuKidid on IOS 58 wasn't working, it would always give me "Write Error".

Would Show up in a screen burn protection color and partially freeze.

<------------------------- The "more" Updated Video I used

I then just took another old USB Flash drive lying around (Duracell) out of desperation. Saw that it was already Fat32 and didn't bother formatting it to 32768' as Allocation unit Size. I plugged it in the Wii and used USB Loader GX Version 3.0 and was able to back up Wii Sports. Therefore I came to a conclusion that probably my Lexar S50 Jumpdrive just wasn't compatible with the Wii.

My question is, what do you guys use for a USB Flash Drive? I dont have much games therefore 32GB is good enough. I did find this page on Google. http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List. Just want to know which brands are the best for this situation.

Based on this report, I found that my IOS 249 and 250 should of changed to rev 65535, d2x-v8final. Because I did the latest D2cios installer and followed the Youtube Video step by step.

What is the safest way to patch my IOS 249 and 250. I can't redo the installation on the D2X app because isn't bad to install patches on active IOS?

Also I have found out about ModMii which is a great program. I found out that the program can update your cIOS. Though I found that Im given Wads like this:

IOS11v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP]
IOS20v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP]
IOS30v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP]
IOS40v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS50v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS52v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS60v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS70v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS80v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])

What Does the [FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP] mean? And is it safe to install those IOS's when they are below IOS200 and can possibly brick the Wii?

Every Advice helps, I know this is a lot of questions and I thank you for your patience. If there needs to be a clarification somewhere let me know.

Use ModMii to update your softmod, it will update everything and it should fix it, of not your HDD might have a problem.

Thank you! Though I'm fairly new to this so would you mind explaining step by step please.

IOS11v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP]
IOS20v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP]
IOS30v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP]
IOS40v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS50v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS52v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS60v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS70v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
IOS80v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])

IOS36-64-v3608
cIOS222[38]-v4
cIOS223[37-38]-v4
cIOS224[57]-v5.1R
cIOS249[56]-d2x-v8-final
cIOS250[57]-d2x-v8-final

These were the wads given by ModMii. My question is why should I install the first 9 Wads when they can practically cause a brick since they are IOS below 200?

ModMii gives you a personalized guide on what to do.

Before I do install these wads, there is one more question I must ask. What does the "[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP]" mean at the end of the wad? And have you installed wads that were below IOS 200 such as "IOS80v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])"?

[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP]

These are the patches that have been applied to the ios to make it useful for homebrew.

As u already used ModMii, you should just install all the wads that it downloded for you and install them, then your wii will be right up to date, homebrew wise.

Alright so I'm trying to install these wads through Multi-Mod Manager 13.4:

cIOS202[60]-v5.1R
cIOS222[38]-v4
cIOS223[37-38]-v4
cIOS224[57]-v5.1R
cIOS249[56]-d2x-v8-final
cIOS250[57]-d2x-v8-final

These following wads give me an error "Ticket (-2011)"

How do I fix this in order to install them? I was able to install "IOS36-64-v3608" with no problem. All my wads are in a folder on the root of the SDHC card named "wads".

Solved nevermind. I had to , select "Load another IOS", then select IOS236

I know this tony guy is trying to be helpful but his post are just plain confusing!!!

I remember with Wii Sports Resort you had to use the alternate dol method the first time you played it, so you could watch the Wii Motion Plus video (compulsory). After you have watched the video you would switch alternate dol off and load the game as normal.

But AFAIK the original Wii Sports worked fine without any special measures, it should do anyway, It was the main launch title for the wii so its probably the oldest wii game out there.

I will read your original post and see what the problem u were having was and see if i can help in any way at all.

EDIT: Have you tried using another loader besides Usb Loader GX? Try adding CFG Usb Loader to your SD card apps folder and try running Wii Sports with that and see how yo get on.
