I have a few questions, first, can you run roms on this without the flashcard? And also where do you get the launcher.dat file?

I didn't know they were not out yet, so at the moment, even though they aren't out, be careful...

What I'm trying to say is: the Red GW cart being inserted or not makes no difference on Downgrading. You only need to GW card to play games obviously and for EmuNAND (you could even have emuNAND without a GW before they blocked it on 2.3b I think).

You can't run 3DS firmware on a 2DS. Sure, the OS functions are the same, but there a few differences that would cause problems.

For example, how would you turn wifi on/off without the 2DS-specific home menu settings?

I just tried this and booting classic mode gives me an infinite blackscreen, I had to force shut down my 3ds and on boot it seemed to boot normally. Just a report.

For downgrading? Yeah, you don't need to buy a gateway for that.

You CAN with CFW CIA, but you'll only be able to play old games that required firmware 4.5 or lower.

So I tried this. I don't have a Gateway, and I was able to go into the Ultra menu on my 9.2 3DS

At least I can back up games and saves. I tried to backup my sysnand but my SD card is full. Overall that's not a bad set of features without paying for a Gateway card

Short answer is no. ORAS is a Card 2 game, so while you can backup the save file by backing up the entire ROM, you can't send it back. You'd need a CyberGadget/Powersaves dongle to send it back to a physical cartridge, or have a GateWay cart to play a ROM with the altered save.

As in, legit bought from eShop? No... You can only use pkhex saves on physical cartridges with save editting devices or through ROMs on GateWay

I'm curious about the exploit... has anyone tested 4.5 homebrew Launcher.dats? I assume they won't work cause the ROP is different. I suppose no homebrew will until a new ROP chain is found? Hopefully we can use it to get homebrew up and running soon, along with porting a CFW to 9.2!

No, you can use savedatafiler with eshop games too on gw mode.
