Not trying to call you out, but people need to stop using this. Once you have your Gateway, you're really not going to buy any more games unless you want online and it's acting finicky with the Gateway. Let's go to a SUPER extreme to illustrate this point, let's say every single person on the earth buys a New 3DS, and let's say that Nintendo makes a profit of about $25 per New 3DS (closer than reality than anyone really wants to mention...) This gives us $175,000,000,000 in profit. Nice. Let's all go home billionaires! Except that it takes money to run that business. Because they own legitimate consoles, everyone gets free tech support, and cheap repairs/replacements. So... Just right off the bat, we can assume about half of those people will take advantage of one of those services at some point in the consoles lifetime, so let's cut that in half, yeah? About $12.50 made per console at this point, and $87,500,000,000 in profit. Now, to support everyone in the world, it's going to be EXPENSIVE. Let's assume about $1/person that owns the console, per month for paying support wages, etc. Your money would be eaten through in slightly less than a year.

Obviously this is rough, not based completely in actually business numbers, and not always accurate in practice, but you can see my point. Buying the console is doing Nintendo no favors, you have to buy the games, buy DLC, buy E-Shop things to keep Nintendo afloat. Yes, of course it drives up console purchases, which is good, and will probably make people buy at least one game during the life-cycle of the console, but ultimately, the existence of flashcards is negative. 3rd party devs being willing to make games for a console drives a lot of purchases as well, without harming the life of the unit!

Thanks for chatting with me, mate! PM me any time and we can discuss the game scene.
do remember its a small minority of people who pirate.....plus anyone pirating would almost certainly not send their console in for repair and risk having it updated and/or being told that a unauthorized modification was detected and they now have to pay a certain amount for the work to be done, or pay for return postage out of their own pocket....plus no matter how you slice it people owning a device increases public awareness, i know several people who now intend to buy the new 3ds after using mine....so sometimes people using flashcards become sort of ambassadors....walking talking people who can showcase games and consoles to people who would buy them after seeing them first hand.......especially when people who usually have/use flashcards are more technically savvy, i know i myself hold a lot of influence over friends and family on what consoles/games they buy.....so you would need to take that into consideration too

as i said before it all varies, there is no set formula on what does and doesn't cause stuff when it comes to piracy.....yeah in general its bad, but in other ways one person pirating and advising people what games they like could lead to more sales made than lost :O

I'd format my sysnand after making emunand, but it would unlink my NNID and change my friend code. So I won't format either one until I do a system transfer onto a new 3DS with emunand already setup. That's going to take awhile, so I'll just have to deal with the issues that come with having emunand still linked with sysnand. :P

What're the issues btw?

Could I play online with SysNAND?
The problem is that it's not sure that there will be EmuNAND...

You can play online, but I would suggest installing .cia files on sysnand. Also keep the WiFi switch off in sysnand unless when youre in a game. When youre done with the game just switch off the WiFi switch and you should be good to go. :teach:

I recall organizing icons in the home menu could be problematic as well as issues with having to unwrap certain installed games everytime emunand is started. Not sure if these issues are still relevent with Gateways current update or the upcoming one. The new update probably won't have emunand initially.

That only happens if the Emunand and sysnand are linked. If you unlink them by either formatting sysnand or formatting the emunand (actual format option in settings), then the presents don't keep appearing and needing to be unwrapped.

I went to bed when there was 15 hours left and woke up with more time on the countdown?

I got my ambassador New 3DS today, which is awesome.
Like all other New 3DS systems it's pre-loaded with v9.0.0-20E firmware, there's two things I ponder.
Will the supposed Gateway update work on 9.0.0 or does it have to be 9.2.0.
And are there or will there be any retail titles that'll update the system to 9.2.0, rather than 9.3.0, 9.4.0 or later.

I already have my New 3DS XL as my main system, which I prefer to use, so I am reckoning that I'll keep the ambassador system for use with a Gateway card, maybe.

It will work on 9.0. Do not update. There is no way to get firmware 9.2 now, but it's irrelevant to you anyway.
