Gateway is like that one girl we've dated that teases but never puts out q_q
I have a friend who only dates single moms becuase he knows they put out. I bet he buys a Sky.

ABSURD THEORY: SonyUSA was instructed by Gateway Team to claim there was no emuNAND support, so that Gateway can release the update weeks later with emuNAND included and claim they didn't want to release an unfinished product.

Did he claim that? I never have seen that so far in the thread

I have a problem. I check Gateway's website way too often.

Always disappointed though. :(

It costs me 236 bucks a month for a comparable server and less bandwidth than what they are probably using lately. Love to see their bill.

I could get a server running there site with enough bandwidth to go around for 140 tops

Should have said servers. 4 vm's minimal or 2 good private boxes. I think at $140 the provider might break even at best.

They really are hosting their own software downloads...

I remember seeing an email where the gateway rep smugly replied they were not losing anybody due to this wait. That in itself is bullshit, now they will learn the hard what happens when a brand with a great reputation comes to play. Hell ive never owned a dstwo but I know the name is associated with quality, Id happily wait for that card to release if gateway doesn't get their shit together ASAP.

If the dstwo+ getting ready to debut doesn't light a fire under gateways ass, nothing will.

I probably would've replied even worst since someone tried to threaten me by selling my device off, I didn't lose money, they did. Yup thats exactly how I would feel right bout now. I'd give some back talk and not give a fuck. Don't come around my shop again you brown nosing fucks, take your car and get the stepping.

@linuxares the dev just ends up at 0

it's no worse than if you pirated
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
it's probably better, because not all keys on key sites are stolen

plus piracy is not always an option

i heard a related story for a dev actually

    from a dev*
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
DRMs are getting stronger these days
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they bought their own game on a key site and checked where they came from and it turned out they were review copies he had given out by email to someone
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    *all* of them
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no storefront I'm aware of (at least on pc) requires the devs to pay for the keys they generate
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
they don't lose money doing this, even if someone decide to chargeback
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so that seems to be a pretty common thing, i kinda blame the dev for that one though as they were giving out like 5 keys to someone just because they asked for multiple copies for review for whatever reason and there were multiple people doing this. he should've seen the red flags
