Hey guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. I am having a hard time getting my Ocarina cheats to work with Nintendont.

I'm loading Tales of Symphonia disc 1 from a USB. Nintendont and most of my apps are on a USB (I'm having serious problems getting Nintendont to work with a USB and an SD plugged in so I moved everything).

I've tried USB Loader GX (someone posted a modded version of r1232 which is compatible with Nintendont on USB), WiiFlow and the Nintendont loader. I've definitely properly enabled the cheats. They work in DIOS MIOS but I want to use a classic controller (and hopefully get past the cutscene glitch in Palmacosta). In Nintendont, they're literally not doing anything. The game launches, but it's like it's without cheats.

They are not 48 codes, I have /sneek/kenobiwii.bin on my USB (promise). I am basically only trying to use the party roller code, but since it's an assembly code I've also put in somen00b's actual party mod codes because they're static. The dev was really quick and helpful with my freezing problem but pointed me here for this particular question.

I'm a long-time lurker because I can usually figure this stuff out by searching and don't need to ask for help, but.. Man, I'm stumped as hell. Anyone got any idea why the cheats aren't doing anything?

EDIT: It appears it's assembly codes that don't work for me. Can anyone explain to me why these codes don't work on Nintendont? It doesn't seem like any of these code types are incompatible. I've seen enough evidence that assembly codes aren't completely off-limits.

Code:
Party Roller [dcx2]
C20C4150 0000000B
881F000C 3D80802D
A16CAF08 716B0003
41820044 A16CAED8
3D80805B 618C775D
7D4C00AE 2C0B0012
40820014 394A0001
2C0A0009 40810008
39400001 2C0B0011
40820010 354AFFFF
41810008 39400009
7D4C01AE 00000000
Based on somen00b's party modifier. Go to the menu. Press the down arrow until you see "Party display change" and "Party exchange". Hold Z, and then press the D-pad left or right. The currently selected party member will roll. You can use this to have Kratos and Zelos at the same time. If you use multiple of the same character (e.g. four Lloyds) there will be freezing, unless you use the next code.

Party Roller Same Char Freeze Fix [dcx2]
F3281A9C 903B4802
34030000 41820008
8803107D 00000000
Using this code, you can use the party roller to have four of the same character.

Meh... all I can think of is 'Use Devolution.'

...assuming you legally backup your games from the discs and don't download games from the net...

I actually used cheats yesterday when i added Super Smash Bros Melee with nintendont.
I had the same problem as you have right now. What i noticed is that i had GALP01 instead of GALE01 (all games has some codes in them).
So i got the version with GALE01 and after that the cheats (all characters and stages) worked. Apparently the cheats i had only worked with GALE01 and not with GALP01.

Maybe you are using the wrong game version but you have the right cheats codes.

I do own Tales of Symphonia, but my disc tray is broken. Stopped reading Brawl forever ago and now it doesn't read anything.

Does Devolution have full cheat support? Can I even use it without a disc tray?

Unfortunately my cheats are not for the wrong game region. Wish it was that easy.

tl;dr: Devolution needs to have CleanRip disc images, and I don't think Devolution has cheats. Why don't you try NeoGamma?

How to apply GameCube cheats with NeoGamma: https://gbatemp.net/threads/use-gamecube-cheats-with-neogamma.313218/

"Devolution requires clean 1:1 disc images (use cleanrip for best results). For the example loader to find them, they must have a .iso file extension and be placed in the /games directory. Use a gamecube controller in port 1 to choose whether to use USB or SD, then press up and down on the D-PAD to cycle through the available .ISO files. Press A to launch a game and after a little while the disc slot should start periodically doing 2 flashes. If it instead does four flashes and returns to HBC, it couldn't mount your storage device - you'll need a USB gecko to find out why. When the slot is doing 2 flashes it means it wants the original disc inserted. If you put the wrong disc in it will spit it out. Once the correct disc is inserted it will be verified, the slot will flash 5 times and hopefully a short time later the game will start. You only need to verify each disc once, after that you should be able to start the game without needing the disc at all. If it keeps looping over the read/verify disc->five flashes procedure then the .ISO file probably doesn't match the disc properly - re-rip it making sure it's a 1:1 image.
If the game uses multiple discs, do not attempt to load disc 2 directly - Devolution will always start the game using disc 1 only."

I'm not sure if Devolution has cheat support..

NeoGamma isn't compatible with Nintendont.

I'm wondering why these cheats work in DM, but not in Nintendont. It's peculiar.

I believe there's an app for that, might be wrong but I'm sure you could use it to convert between Action Replay to Ocarina.... then you just need to list your cheats in a text file in the correct listing format and put in the codes folder on your sd card, then your USB loader should be able to create the gct file for you.
