Guys, don't forget there's still hope left. Does no one remember this email? A release till the 25th is still possible!
Still saying 2Pac being alive is a better gamble than whatever there's in store for us with Gateway. Might as well wait for him to show up. It'll be 'soon'.

Add Kurt Cobain too, as insult to injury.

What hassle, waiting for the update isn't hassle, It's called being impatient.
setting up emunand, backing up emunand,. Convert .3ds roms to .cia. installing .cia. prevent bricking with installation of .cia. prevent sysnand from updating ......

Wow, now you are complaining that you have to do some work to have so much more functions than with a Sky3DS? Should the Gateway team maybe also come to you and wipe your butt, because it's just too much hassle for you? I can't even... just wow. If you want to only play roms buy a sky3ds and get out of this thread.

i am not complaining, read the posts above this;).... i would be more than happy with those functions.

but i was saying people who are buying an gateway for their kids would be better of with a sky3ds (this is one of the examples: http://gbatemp.net/threads/sister-updated-to-9-4-what-to-do.376803/)

Thats really not a hassle, firstly I've never had to convert any .3ds roms to .cia thats an optional some users choose to take personally. Setting up emunand, what you can't navigate through a menu and press A. Thats literally the extent of it. Nobody has EVER bricked their console with .cia installation. Going back to your converting .3ds to .cia roms, you can now get .cia roms from a different site, all set up nice and neat for you ready to play. I'm sorry none of your points hold any weight. It's incredibly simple to use and anybody who can't figure it out .. must be incredibly simple I guess.

Edit: And what happens when that guys sister updates and the Sky3DS is blocked, but with emunand that isn't a problem. That sounds like It would be hassle to me.

yeah but not for kids. And bricking an console with .cia installation is possible and done before (ryansrock mentioned something he did that). If you know what you are doing it is ok, but for kids idk. But it is your call.

I can see where you're coming from I guess, but at the same point you shouldn't give kids access to something they dont understand and could possibly break. If they're old enough to use a 3DS + Gateway then they're old enough to understand how to work it and not break it.

that is exactly what I ment:P so i personally think that for little kids a sky3ds would be more simple and safer (for updates etc.).

yeah i agree for kids SKY3Ds is straight forward gaming no messing about or risks.

just make sure wifi is disabled just in case there is a new update which may block the SKY3DS. :)

I just dont think you're giving kids enough credit to know what they're doing. When I was younger we had our PS1 chipped, I remember getting cotton buds and having the "slot" open and spinning the copied game with the cotton bud .. I didn't struggle to work it. I really dont think kids would stuggle

Honestly I can easily see kids who are 11 to 12 easily being able to do this. I know kids who set up their own minecraft server and port forwarded at the age of 10.

well true enough, but the threads of siblings/kids updating their sysnand are already here/and showing up again (also on maxconsole).

Hmm Not sure about the European import laws, but games imported into the US under $250 have no customs fees.

lucky bastards

its anything £15 and over here in the UK for goods originating from outside the EU. and theres an £8 handling fee on top of that charge too.

yeah but tbh people have a tendency of not warning people or keeping their console in a safe place and then wonder why someone updated their console.....yeah sky3ds may be safe for now, but should a block arrive for sky3ds it will be exactly the same situation.......people just need to learn to warn people or dont let people have access to their console, i have leant my 3ds to my nephew who is 7 and he managed using the gateway card perfectly fine......its just people who are unaware of the situation being expected to know that the owner wouldn't want to update, most people just assume they are doing you a favor

articles like this don't help http://gizmodo.com/important-psa-update-gadgets-before-you-wrap-them-1487186506 , yeah imagine the look as you get handed your nice new n3DS (yes im aware thats 2 new's) and they say "oh and i updated it for you so you can go straight to playing"....and you have to sit there and say thanks for that lol

You guys dont get it. Kids, Girlfriend, Boyfriend that just wanna play and dont give a Fruit about homebrew, cia, etc Sky3DS is the perfect choice. Those people doesnt care and wont understand anything about that and might even brick their 3DS so yeas its a hassle for them. While with Sky3DS just need to disable the WiFi on the 3DS.
