Hi guys,

Just bought my first xbox 360, its a 15gb white oldish box, I am picking up in a couple of days from the seller.

Bought it just to play hack stuff or games I can't get on the PS2/3 Don't anything live in it.

Is its easy to do or is there a service I send to to get it hack?

Can you play burnt games on it, like the ps2?

Advice is always appreicated.

Thanks

Many thanks, I just picked it up the other day and its a 20gb version - mfr date - 2008-09-01. Hope that something can be done with it

How do you actually tell if its a falcon or jasper version - the power things has 6 holes and a straight piece above that.

Apart from that 12v dc, 14.2a; 5vsb, 1a - I have a product id and serial if that helps

Looked at the power supply and listed as 175w - so I can assume that this will apply

Falcon: 2007 - 2009 175w power supply, can be JTAGged and RGH'd & R-JTAGged.

Need to check if I can do this or I need someone to do it for me...back to the sticky

thank D, my head hurts reading the sticky. It got worse watching a few vids on the tube.

What the best way to get it done? I think your flashservice is on hold.

Not interested in live, just playing games from disc or hdd, whatever is easier.

RGH looks like the one to do.

will it be a case of buying a kit to get this done or getting someone to do this?

plenty of vids out there, but some of them are so unclear or poor quality , you know mistake will happen.

Don't watch youtube videos.

I'd say RGH then if you don't care about Live.
If you want to do it yourself, you'll have to know how to solder.
You'll need a JR Programmer to dump the NAND and a CR4 to hack it ;]

Aye, me service is on hold due to current events.

thanks D.

not sure how play it, solder, done it before, but no xpert. where isthe best place to get the kit?

does anyone else offer a cheap service you come across in your time?

I guess I could weigh it all up and see which would be cheapest route.

Also where is the best picture guide as solder points will be key, wrong one and its a dead machine.

I'd bring it to a modshop then.
You could send it to me and let me hack it for you.
However, this will take a while and is expensive (due to shipping)

I personally like using Team xecuters products. When I do a phat console I don't use QSBs and just install the original jtag wiring. Usually makes for good boot times. If you've never soldered before it'd be safer to go with the the QSBs. But if you have to get a soldering iron and other stuff then it might be cheaper to have someone do it for you. I hack for the sake of learning. It's fun

cheers guys,

So to sum up, no matter which way I go its a solder job unless I use these qsbs!

I have a solder/iron station, but I am at beginner level at using it!

So if I went with the install What extactly will I need - list wise

1. For the rgh self install - which boards and wires (TX stuff)

2.for the rgh self install - which boards and wires (qsb stuff)

3. A service - I think they will charge about £50 - is that about right?

4.Dino - I will send you a pm

cheers guys looks like I have a xmas project

-Soldering iron (needs a good tip)
-Flux
-Torx 8 screwdriver
-Nand reader (nand-x or Jr programmer are your best bets)
-Glitch chip (I use the TX CR4 XL)
-Computer with J-runner
-Patience
