+1 because price IS a factor. not everyone has the privilege of living in America and the privilege of easy money. I remember reading a few Indian temper's comments on literally selling their kidneys just to own a N3DS/Gateway/Sky3DS.

No racism intended but that's just because only those kinds of people were the ones I found.

Ever heard about a couple shooting dead a teen for their PS4 after meeting a in parking lot to do an exchange? Even countries where unemployment will give a few hundred every week or fortnight, people still do stupid shit for stuff they don't want to save up and want right now.

They say they are going to see if they can get emunand working on 9.3, not the exploit that already works on 9.2 and below.

The email actually says they're still testing the new exploit on 9.3 Sysnand to see if it works and also working on getting 9.3 Emunand working.

Title is a bit misleading. They have said that they're checking on it and that 9.3 may or may not have support for Gateway.

Sounds to me like they are buying time with this testing the new 9.3 exploit. Even if they did find an exploit that works in 9.3 they would sit on it for the N3DS release.

Well this thread helped me ease my soul a little bit.
I bought a Gateway 2 weeks ago and received it until this Tuesday... Which by then the 9.3 update was up.
Even worse, I ordered a 3DS (repaired one for a cheap price) and I still don't know what sysnand does it have installed.

With this email from GW, I am pleased to know that they are working on a way to make the card work on the latest Firmware and also the option to add emunand for 9.3 too.
I might have to wait quite some time... But I know the wait will be very well worth it.

For now, my Gateway cards will remain sealed in their package until further notice.

Also, I am seeing that some people are making conclusions on their own about that email.
To get things straight:

• The email states very clearly that they are making test in 9.3 to see if they can make the exploit from 9.0-9.2 work on 9.3 too. This is what they refer to with tests on 9.3 SYSNAND.
• They also say that they are working on 9.3 EMUNAND. This is the emulated system firmware that Gateway uses to make the console think that it is running the latest firmware, while in reality, the system still has an older firmware (4.5 for example) and the emulated firmware is 9.2.
• The "DO NOT UPDATE message in their website is just a safety measure for their customers.
  In case they are not able to make the exploit work on 9.3, then they can't be to blame since they did warn their users about the update. Is just so they are in the safe side of things. Nothing more.
  It's not like they said explicitly that the exploit didn't work on 9.3, it was just a quick look at the update and that was it.

Nevertheless, I am still looking forward for their updates. I know they never let their clients down.

Is this supposed to be a riddle? I can't confidently make sense of what you're trying to say. Does it go something like:

You want to trade your Gateway for someone else's Sky3DS. But you think that there would be no one foolish enough to complete the trade with you. So you're going to try to return your Gateway instead?

I don't mean to sound harsh or picky. I genuinely want to know.

If someone was silly enough to update their N3DS to 9.3 KNOWING that Gateway would be incompatible... do they even deserve it?

I'm sure lots of people would be happy if they released the 9.0-9.2 firmware right now, but Gateway is looking at the big picture, they want to provide support for people above and below the 9.0-9.2 range.
