Hi, I was wondering if you guys can help me on this one.
What firmware does the Super Mario Bros. U + Super Luigi U Deluxe Wii U comes with?
How about the Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Wii U?
These two are the only bundle available in our area. :o

I recently bought a European Wii U last week bundled with Mario Kart 8 preinstalled on the hard disk.
If I recall correctly, the system it came with was 5.1.0E

I'd recommend the NSMBU+NSLU bundle, for two reasons:

1. It's one of the early bundles so will likely come with a lower firmware still. Mine came with firmware 4.1.0.
2. It contains both games on a single disc, which isn't available outside the bundle. You can buy NSMBU and NSLU separately on their own discs, or buy NSLU as DLC for NSMBU, but only the bundle comes with both NSMBU and NSLU on a single disc. :-)

Hope this helps.

About 2.; I don't know if they changed that with NSMBU and NSLU, but I bought a Wii U Mario Kart 8 Premium Bundle once in May - it came with MK8 on a DVD. Then I bought the "same" Premium Bundle this month and it came with MK8 preinstalled - no DVD anymore.

AFAIK the NSMBU bundle hasn't changed, if they're still selling it it's probably leftover stock. They're producing the newer bundles with SM3DW, MK8, etc. now.

It's not a DVD that Wii U uses it's a proprietary of Blu-ray. The Wii U discs hold up to 25 GB of data.

Tongue-in-cheek, it's easy to say "DVD" to mean a general video or game disc. If it's actually DVD, Blu-ray, or perhaps HD DVD, HVD, M-DISC, or some other format is just nitty bitty information. :-) "Wii U Optical Disc" is the official name, but in speech it's kind of stupid to say. Perhaps just "disc" is a better alternative, yes? I mean, we used to call Dreamcast game discs "DVDs" at the time with my friends, too. Nobody would say "GD-ROM".

Yeah that's true, I know it's Blu-Ray (like), but I catch myself saying CD sometimes, even to Windows installation media :D (/offtopic)

Wow guys, thank you so much. Now, I only need to find out what firmware comes with the Super Mario 3D World Wii U bundle.

EDIT: Yes, I'm looking for US version of the console.

Crap and I just unboxed mine yesterday and updated to 5.2 with Smash. Didn't even bother to look. Sorry.

Off topic and I could ask in another thread, but any recommendations on what size SD card I should get for it. Will not be using vWii for now. I searched around and all I could find it used for is snapshots and Smash custom levels, I have no idea how big those are. I have a 2GB laying around, but there are decent sales going on for 16 and 32 this time of year.

This is the first time I read someone saying that the Dreamcast discs were called "DVDs" I'd always refer to them as CDs even though I knew they were GD-ROM.
