Yes, you do need evidence to support your claims. I've provided plenty of evidence of Nintendo/Sony not fixing things until after they were hacked/exploited, so you need to provide evidence of them fixing all these supposed hacks/exploits that hadn't happened yet. Otherwise, the facts are on my side, and this conversation is over.

Of course they release bug/stability fixes and the like, but these are almost always released after an initial hack/exploit has already been discovered, so scene groups do not care if Nintendo/Sony have patched holes unrelated to the already in-use hack/exploit.

Well I'm done arguing, since it's obvious you're fairly ignorant of how these things work.

I don't have to support it. It's obvious. You need to know about technology before speaking, bud.

Fixing an error you don't know about is very hard, like he said.

But you're also right in that Nintendo has a very narrow spectrum to examine. Changes made from 8.x to 9.0 is all they needed to look at, after all. While it may not have been feasible for them to examine every possible variable and pointer, they certainly could have covered a lot of ground. Or even patched some that Gateway never knew about.

he is correct though.....best example is sony with their gaping hole in their otherwise unbreakable ps3 security, all it takes is one mistake by one lowly programmer to create a hole for people to get into the system....no matter how much people try there is no such thing as perfect security

Well, no, I agree with that. I'm just saying, they don't need to "wait" until the exploit is explained, some of the time. Sometimes they can narrow it down. I've seen numerous times where Sony did it.

Guys i have a question about nintendo updates, when they're about to release a new update when do they remove the old one from their servers ? minutes or hours before the new update goes live ?
I'm pretty sure it's already live (got a notification on my 9.2.0-20E emunand console). I don't think there's a way to actually know this, let alone there being any merit to knowing it; even if it remained on their servers, the System Update setting will update the console to the latest version.

no he's not saying they NEED to see it to patch it, just that not seeing it makes it 100 times harder to find, im sure these is hundreds of bugs and potential exploits that are patched way before each firmware drops....but just because they are looking doesn't mean they will spot it

Riiight. I'm the one who has no idea what he's talking about because I don't believe in Nintendo-created androids running on AI that predicts all future hacks/exploits in their firmware and blocks them before they become a problem.

You obviously don't. I don't think you understand how ignorant you sound right now.

right chill guys XD.....its fairly obvious not seeing the exploit makes it harder to patch....but not impossible

Yeah, I've been sick. Although it's not an excuse, it has made me fairly irritated in general, haha! Good call. I need to take a step back.

the reason why i'm asking this is because i bought a jap n3ds from a guy on ebay like 6 hours ago & when i asked him to update it for me he said he can't because the box is all sealed so i'm just wondering if he already knew about 9.3 as he could have tried to update his other jap 3ds but it wouldn't update because it was removed from ninty server or maybe he got a message update to 9.3 ??

pretty sure it was live right up until the new update dropped....you will be able to see if the console is open anyway :P

Go watch some Pocahontas or something

Geez, or better yet go blow up the Firmware 9.3 thread. 1st page posters just got pwned by OP.
