i had already emailed them requesting a refund....i have had companies suddenly mark stuff as shipped before when requesting a refund even though they haven't so then you kinda cant get a refund......idk maybe i was too hasty, but then again the part where i should of been able to cancel the order on the site was rather vague and i didn't want to be waiting for the usual super slow email every other day with random non helpful "we will have stock in soon" etc etc

also im not saying play asia isnt a legitimate business, but even huge companies play silly games when it comes to refunds, personally i haven't used them before so i have no idea how good they are on that front....especially when they start saying stuff about restocking fee's and how they will do refunds with store credit in their refunds page....that stuff didn't really fill me with hope on them being easy to deal with, as did the other stories of people waiting ages for replies from them online when it came to refunds

I don't think people understand how import tax/duties are calculated. I didn't. You read horror stories about a carpet or a watch, but each category is different. In the case of video games, that is a major import. How would PS4s sell if every one that crossed the states was +$50. Every item is taxed equally, whether its for a store or citizen. Glad I know for the future. People often let greed get the best of them, finding something at a bargain, forgetting all about import fees for the particular item.

Well I think that they want you to close it so they can refund it, because if they refund it while the case is open it leaves their account with a mark. That can be very damaging for companies like theirs. I'm pretty confident they will refund you quickly, they did mine anyways. Just remember they are on HK time.
Precisely, initiating a chargeback is a cunt of a thing to do. Close it, and await their response via email or let them fulfil agreement you made with them and just sell it off when it arrives.

i'm starting to think i should have ordered the XL instead of the standard size as i noticed from most of the video clips that i have seen on youtube that the colours on the standard N3DS screens look slightly washed out compared to the colours on N3DS XL screens which look very nice.

watch this for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=_wlUnR8DfDU#t=636

I dunno man. I'd be happy with either one. I won't say both look exactly the same, but there's not really any kind of pro over the other.

Despite the larger screen that I'll obviously miss, I'll still be going for the regular new 3ds :)

Aside from the 3DSXL having a luxurious 800 x 240 display, a screen fit for Kings. The regular 3DS...well, I guess some people are into that...?
I tell you, since I bought my XL, my life has become like 28 Days Later, except with attractive women chasing me.

If you buy an XL, you've grown a full 1.53 inches over the...[attempts to hold back laughter]...regular 3DS guys.

They both have the same res so 3DS has higher dpi than XL.

This makes me glad to have a friend who lives in Australia and can stroll down to the local shop, pick up a unit, and ship it to me without extorting me for profit margins :D

personally i prefer smaller consoles specially in 3DS case because smaller screen means sharper resolution but i'm one of those who like rich vibrant colours as much as sharp resolution. i have sent the shop an email & hopefully it's not too late to change my order.

hardly a "cunt" thing to do, shipping is going to be longer than expected, and their refund page implies they will try fob people off with "store credit".......basically i would rather cut out all that BS and just get a refund seeing as it would probably not be getting here before Christmas........no harm done to them, they keep their 3ds its not like they have sent it and then i tried to get my money back too....no i just wanted to speed the process up rather than have to jump through silly hoops for 2 weeks, i mean the response i received was "oh we do have stock but wont ship until the 16th"....that's not "having stock", that's ...."we should have it in by then".....so i just though i cba with this i will look else where, easiest way to get them to understand was to open a case so they just cut to the chase so i can order elsewhere and receive it before Christmas

Well then.
My card came in the mail today, and it actually came in a day late. I've been pretty patient up until now, but now I think it's time to tell Gateway that time's up!!! Release the update now or else!!

(But seriously. Waiting be hard.)

What are ya talking about, I've seen comparisons of XL vs N3DSXL and the new one still looks more vivid

My Estimate: December 14th

GW has a habit of releasing an update ~15 days after they announce it/ preview it.

That's an eternity from now... :c
I need something to procrastigame with.

Pretty solid estimate though. Seems likely that we'll all lose our sanity at around that date (that is, for those of us who haven't lost it yet).

Sanity's for the weak of mind. B-)

One thing.

For some reason, GW used to throw around an estimation date for their releases. What happened? Last thing they said was "Very Close" ..

I honestly think they're ready to launch anything this weekend. What they showed us looked so complete it's almost bollocks lol.

But...this time...this may be the update that people remember as "the unexpectedly quick release". Although averages are safe, never rule out an outlier.
(Please release in 30 minutes.)
