Third party support is shit (I dunno why I ever believed otherwise :( ), but nintendo's own lineup is decent. It's entertaining if you have guests and has backwards compatibility (which can be hacked). I certainly don't regret buying it, but it doesn't get as much use as my PC nowadays. Still...I think they complement each other nicely. :)

*Press* (Did he just say what I think...?) Taleweaver, what you said is very important. Please add it to your testimony!

*Present Reggie Interview* Mr. Taleweaver... Let me ask you a question. In your previous testimony you said, "third party support is shit". Recall the statement we heard earlier from the first witness. "If you look at the other two competitive platforms, fundamentally, what’s the difference?" Taleweaver! Your Wii U doesn't get as much use as your PC because you're refusing to play exclusive Nintendo games! In other words... You are the reason the Wii U is struggling on the market!

wtf? Is console/PC polygamy a crime now? :P

Ahem...

*me*: *hides head within hands* It is true. I confess. I'm secretly one of those "PC master race"-kind of gamers. Oh, I wish it wasn't so, but it is...
*Press* *GASP* Is the allegation that you have a huge steam library correct?
*me*: it is...exhibit A is absolutely correct. I have more PC games legally purchased than there are games in the wiiu library. Mea culpa! Mea culpa! I have renounced the joys of my youth. I can't but ask for forgiveness...
*Reggie*: but why?! We created a top quality Mario platformer as launch title. Then a 3D'ish Mario game. Then some Mario party games. And a Mario kart game. And a Mario brawler! Why are you making our little console struggle on the market when we provide so much variety?
*me*: I...I...*sigh*...I have no excuse. Please understand that I like PC games more than console games. :(
*Judge*: would you mind explaining why you happen to HAVE a wiiu in your house, then? With an above-average gaming library no less?
*me*: ...I guess I cannot refuse to comment, can't I?
*Judge*: no, mr. Taleweaver. You are under oath. And be glad we won't be asking questions about your sexual fantasies...
*me*: okay...okay. I do have a wiiu. I...keep it to attract girls.
*Press*: excuse us? Did you just say...
*me*: ah, hell! You all heard it. Yes, I keep it to attract girls. Women my age grew up with nintendo products. They love Mario. And while I hope I can pervert them into the realms of REAL gaming, there is nothing like a smooth Mario game to get nice and cozy on the couch next to a beautiful women. That makes sure my body is ready... :yaywii:
*further chaos*

Just received by wii u and wow the attention to detail, integration of all the different controlled and the gamepad itself have made a very pleasant experience.

my recent replay of SMG on dolphin solidified that nintendo's games are the best. quality over quantity. My 3DS and Wii U guarantee me 5-8 excellent titles a year which I will thoroughly enjoy. Also the charm of games like Mario Kart, Nintendoland, Super Smash brothers, Mario Party and how inviting these games are to everyone in the family is unparalleled.

Christmas day with the extended family around, everyone will much rather play MK8 or Super Smash than playing boring crappy FIFa over and over.. and over and over.. and over and over. At last Christmas is saved.

I have to say I agree with you 100%. Nintendo makes very nice hardware with great quality. Small tidbit: did you know the edges of a Wii U game disc are rounded so they feel softer to touch? Try touching the edges of any DVD, Wii disc, or even PS4 / XB1 disc. They have hard, sharp edges. I was seriously impressed when I realized that.

One other neat thing I forgot about the WiiU. It upscales SD content from Wii mode amazingly. I can play an actual Wii with component cables and get a blurry as f#$% picture on my HDTV. I'm no expert on visual stuff, but playing in vWii I sometimes find it hard to believe its not running at 720p.

This is solely because native HDMI is better than component.

Has more to do with your TV having better digital to analog image processing than the Wii...

It may be premature to speak for everyone, but I'd say the answer is yes all around.
Well personally I'm kinda mixed as from 07ish to 10 I was a solid Wii supporter and mainly play Wii games but then
From 10 to now I was mainly a ps3 guy but now all I play is Wii u s

There are plenty of reasons to own a Wii U at this point, and the price is absolutely within reason. the question really is, is the Wii U for you or not? Maybe the reasons to own the console don't fit your wants and needs for a video game console. For me though, it has so many great exclusive games that I love, that I'd have trouble justifying not owning that. But we're all different, and I can see why perhaps some people don't find the console appealing.

OK here is a question for Wii u fans (I'm one myself) was you primary console from last generation a Wii?
Primarily PC here. I started off on the PS3 last generation, though. Wii didn't interest me until I heard some nice things about the homebrew. I generally like Nintendo's main IPs (Zelda, Metroid, Smash, Pikmin, F-Zero) but few games came to the Wii that actually caught my interest. Wii U, on the other hand, definitely has it.

Really when its all said and done I think the Wii u will have a better legacy with gamers than the Wii ever had

Absolutely not. Wii sports is one of the bestselling games ever, and not just because it came with the wii. Motion controls added something to the collective memory of gamers that can't be compared with the 2 screen functionality that is rarely used outside off-tv play.
And while third party support sort of died down at the end of its lifetime, there are still some classics to be found on them (no more heroes, resident evil 4, okami, madworld, ...). On the wiiu, it'll be nintendo's products all the way.

For me it's been a very boring experience
Most of the games a fun for a few hours/days then it becomes repetitive and boring
It's fun if you invite friends though

Personally I (and many others) don't really care for motion controls as in many games they just felt like a gimmick or were rarely used.
As for games yes no more hero's was fun and so was mad world but okami wasn't nearly as good as its ps2 version and Res4 was great but it was basically just an updated version with new controls and content. Also we have matched many of the Nintendo franchises with current ones (Mk,Ssb, and what not). Sure the Wii will always be more important in legacy but I'm just saying that the Wii u has had (IMO ) better games thus far.
