so like

if I want to play a ROM (*.3DS) on the gateway, I just need to put it onto the SD card and play. Thats it, right? No conversion or any stuff like that? I will be using it on 9.2.0 firmware once the update is released.

Well people are accustomed to emuNAND now; it's really hard to take away something that people already had access to, or know has existed. It's no question that emuNAND gives extremely great value to the card, so I think all Gateway fans are hoping it's put in with this upcoming 9.0-9.2 update.

not only because people are used to emunand but mainly because emunand is future proof. if gateway on 9.0-9.2 does not have emunand then when Nintendo blocks it it will be stuck on those firmwares & won't be able to continue any further while gateway on 4.5 with emunand will keep on going hence why the gateway team said do not update to 9.2 if you have 4.5. why didn't they advice people to upgrade to 9.2 before nintendo releases their next update which is most likely going to block gateway 9.2 ? because of emunand that's why.

from what i understand so far specially from the gateway team's advice (stay at 4.5) & them not saying a word about emunand i think that Gateway on 9.2 is the same as Sky3ds in terms of compatibility & longevity. but of course i could be wrong :)

Gateway Team: - If you are on native System Firmare 4.5, then please stay at this version.

Question guys:

Is it possible to accidently buy a FAKE Micro SD from an oficial retailer (like say, a physical store in one of my country's big shopping malls, for example)?

I've always wondered if that could happen.
It can absolutely happen even in the US and even the big box stores. Not only through corruption along the supply chain but at the local store level as well. Say I get my hands on some fake 64GB San Disks in blister packages. All I have to do is go to Best Buy, purchase a few and then return the fake ones a few days later. If the packaging is good and SKU matches up I will be long gone before anyone is the wiser.

The chances of that happening are less than at a conveince store but it still happens.

Counterfeit currency is still a major problem, goods even more so. Just keep your receipt.

Damn :x .. Well.. I'll keep my eye open. Hopefully not.

If I ever found a 3ds xl with 4.5 still intact I'd continue leaving it at 4.5 but not everyone was fortunate to find one. Some stores were iffy on letting me see the serial # so I gave up, sadly.
If youd ask them nicely Im sure they would even let you open the package and check what FW it is, did it a couple of times. No harm done.

I know this may seem like a bit of a stretch but is there any reason that a regular 3DS user wont get the same features as the video shows with the New 3DS? I mean I know its the same FW but its not the same hardware.

Hmmm.. Nah.. I don't think so. Besides obvious HW modifications, I'd argue the New 3DS is still the same old. It doesn't seem like Nintendo banked a lot of security on the "new" portable.

Edit: They COULD'VE reworked the name. But hey, it's Ninty we're talking about.

Well Ive sent them another mail. ( I feel ashamed on how much times Ive bothered them with my silly paranoid questions... But a mans gotta be sure. )
