Anyone care to list the pros and cons of getting a N3DS from Japan when you live in the US? There are issues that I don't want to look back and regret.

Here are some things I would like to know.

1. How will Online be handled? Will I be able to play with my friends who have the US versions?

2. Local multiplayer. Same question.

3.Game updates. Sure I can download them as CIA files and install them, but that seems like it would be more of a hassle than just being able to go to the eshop and downloading them from the N3DS, seing as most of my games are NTSC.

4.How does the whole region thing come into play when linking to your NNID? Will there be some issue that Nintendo won't be able to help with because it's an import?

5.Will I be able to use my jap N3DS with my NTSC Wii U, whether it be transferring Miis back and forth or using it for connective games (Smash Bros)

I really don't understand why people are so impatient as to get an N3DS from Japan, and at the same time, it's something I'm now considering. I just don't want it to come back and bite me in the ass.

The big question is...What do you want to do with the system? If it's just playing roms on a flashcard then buy a JP console. If all this online stuff (Eshop/Mulitplayer).......etc.etc..is a problem then sit it out and wait for the NA version.

I bought a JP console last night (I live in the UK) and not bothered about all this online stuff and JP text. Who cares about that, really?

In my book, you buy a console for hacking with and another for legit use i,e online...etc.

Maybe a stupid question, but...

The video shows an emuNAND or a sysNAND?

thanks

Does anyone know if I can use one micro sd between both the red and blue card without format/erasing? Also, has anyone ordered from wcrepairs and gotten their card delivered? I got my tracking number, but it doesn't say anything other than the shipping label being created.

I'm pretty sure that yes, you can use the same Micro SD.

Just give it a day or so and more tracking info should show up. It's perfectly normal :)

Finally, the speculation storm has ended, or has it? The Gateway Team finally released a video demonstrating the use of the Gateway 3DS on a recent model of the Nintendo 3DS, confirming that they are about to enable support for recent 3DS firmwares.

When will it release?
will it come before christmas?

Got an email that said if it goes into Beta, I will get it. The way the email was worded though makes it sound like they are hoping to release to the public as a whole.

How much?
Will my gateway 3ds(bought months ago) support it directly?

Yes, this update will support gateway cards bought before this. They will not be releasing any new hardware from what people have heard through them in emails. I can't estimate how much more money they would make over the holiday, but judging from the hype, quite a bit.

I'm pretty convinced that gateway is going to wait for 9.3 to come out and patch ssspwn and maybe sky 3ds so they can have exclusivity on 9.3, maybe even wait for the us n3ds tho I doubt they wait that long

Is Superufo legit? there prices are really good.

Also releasing the new GW update before worldwide release is a huge risk, many people think that new 3DSs
were already manufactured and ready to distribute next year and Big N will not bother to update them,
the fact last year Nintendo updated all 4.5 or lower FW refurbished systems and asked
many retailers to do so.....
Yes New3DS hacking is a big deal for them and they will reopen their boxed systems, updated them to more (stabel) FW to prevent it.

The man power alone it would take to go back, open (so no longer new unless they become factory sealed again, but then they're not new if theyve been updated anyway) update then reclose probably millions of consoles makes me seriously doubt it, the most they would do is ask retailers to do it. Or even more likelier just issue the update and hope people download it.
