The only thing left now would be if Gateway releases support for 3DSX files with the update.
That would make this perfect :D

It doesn't matter of they don't let you have the 9.x patch in games because it will only affect jap 3ds as they ship with firmware below 9.0 the pal ones come with 9.0 standard.
That's for the New 3DS, perhaps. But there are plenty of standard 3DS and 3DS XLs being sold with 5.0 - 8.x firmware who might need a card to update to 9.0-9.2 if newer updates are released by Nintendo.

I'm more excited about the Star Wars trailer!!!!
I don't know how anybody can be excited about that. Disney is never going to give us the adult-themed Star Wars movies we deserve. All the main characters are probably going to be Ewoks.

Also, the trailer was just a whole lot of cutaway and a Pineapple Express-inspired lightsaber.

I swear if anyone claims they are cloning sky3ds I will personally hunt them down and smack them. There is no way to deny gateway has found a kernel exploit.

"Cloning", you mean... "completely blowing out of the water", right?

LOL I just now realized that.

Unless a date is announced for EUR before 2015 I'm just going to get the NEW XL from play-asia, (£165) It's probably cheaper than It would be over here anyway, If i sell my original XL on ebay around christmas I'll probably be able to get £100+ with a game or so, not to shabby imo.

I'm in the UK and kinda want the new XL so i can give my sister the old one. Whats the drawbacks of going down this route compared to buying a UK/EUR one?

the AUS model will be the exact same thing as the UK/EU release, except you will at least be guaranteed 9.0-9.2 compatibility :)

Anyone care to list the pros and cons of getting a N3DS from Japan when you live in the US? There are issues that I don't want to look back and regret.

Here are some things I would like to know.

1. How will Online be handled? Will I be able to play with my friends who have the US versions?

2. Local multiplayer. Same question.

3.Game updates. Sure I can download them as CIA files and install them, but that seems like it would be more of a hassle than just being able to go to the eshop and downloading them from the N3DS, seing as most of my games are NTSC.

4.How does the whole region thing come into play when linking to your NNID? Will there be some issue that Nintendo won't be able to help with because it's an import?

5.Will I be able to use my jap N3DS with my NTSC Wii U, whether it be transferring Miis back and forth or using it for connective games (Smash Bros)

I really don't understand why people are so impatient as to get an N3DS from Japan, and at the same time, it's something I'm now considering. I just don't want it to come back and bite me in the ass.

1. Probably .. The same? Online's restricted to the cart I believe. Could be wrong though.
2. This one I have no idea.
3. As I've heard, as long as you can acess the eShop natively (without any further updating) you can download the updates no problem. The issue comes after that :x
4. Dunno :(
5. Bigger dunno :(

Biggest reason I've seen is because of GW's multi-region and the fact that many just play single-player.
