Hey guys, if we were to play online with an original dump of Omega Ruby; could I just use my own personal and legit version of, say, Pokemon Y and use it's header?

You can try, there's someone using their Y as header and it works for them

My own legit copy of Y doesn't work as a header, but my 3ds and everything are European, so idk if that's the reason.... or I did something wrong setting it up. .

Ah, I see. No worries then. If it ends up being a huge hassle I will probably just buy the real version anyways

Just convert it to cia and install/use that way if you have the space on your sdcard, no header needed

Figured I'd put out a version once I got it working well enough for others to use. Now I can focus on other things in the meantime (like sleep, work, dumping other game data, updating shiny value programs, etc).

will we ever see pokecheck support for current gen again? or is that service discontinued?

Another question that has me a little anxious. Any chance I could have my 3DS bricked or any sort of 'lock' if I were to use a legit dump of the game (that is NOT mine)? Just curious if it's possible for the system to be bricked by Nintendo for using an 'illegal' copy of the game.

Highly doubt it, but who knows what they can do remotely.

It's a tiny "what if" risk imo. And most likely nothing will happen....

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like Caravan was beaten to the punch? Or are these Caravans releases? Just seems so weird and obscure from the way things are usually released on the scene.

Are you on the latest Gateway 2.6 firmware? Maybe try a different ROM.

Dunno about anybody else, but I have been using the EUR version of Omega Ruby... apparently some rather unimaginatively named 3ds rom/iso site may have a copy lying around, if anyone wanted to try their google-fu at any rate.

I have not tried converting it to cia yet, but I am about to try that now and test it on GW 2.6 emuNAND and CFW emuNAND to see if it can load up, but did people not say something about X and Y not working right on CFW? If that is the case, then perhaps OR and AS would have the same problem on CFW too? I will give it a try, but I do not have my hopes up on that atm.

Don't you have to be on the latest 9.X firmware emuNAND to run the newer games?

Guess you missed out the note about the EU/US X/Y patch being region free and that people have dumped Japanese CIA update file for other Japanese games.
