My guess is since GW has no buttons, you will put the games inside the SD Card and set UP a list with the names of the ROMs and a order for them to appear.
So GW will show the games one ofter another untill you choose to play one.
Or it will be one game per SD card.

Or, Gateway's method has nothing at all to do with Sky3D's.
1. We do not know if Sky3DS is using an actual exploit, or just card emulation.
2. Correlation is not causation.

I think it may be the same method since they announced about 9.2 instead of waiting for the american new 3ds and releasing the method after it.

There is a little hole next to the microsd slot. Is that a reset pinhole? If so, maybe they can produce some sort of button+pin that is taped over the hole...

Multirom maybe?
I'd bet the rest of this years paychecks that since it only works on firmware that has themes, it's a kernel exploit in them, which should mean most of the same features. But we will see

That's an LED, I wouldn't advise sticking anything in it.

I sent this mail to them:

Hello there,
I have a 2DS and I'd like to know this:
If I buy GW before the next update, will I be able to update it to work on my FW 9.X 2DS?
Or do I have to wait and buy a GW that is already updated and already works with 9.X?

And they responded:

Current Gateway is compatible with your 2DS.

mailto:[email protected]

What do they mean the current gateway is compatible with my 2ds? If I get a gateway today I'll be able to play backups on my 2DS on the spot?

Maybe they didn't understand the question, but I already bought a GW from yeahgeek, so let's wait and see in a couple of months if it will work/update on my 2ds.

I am definitely waiting on the release for this as i don't have a console on 4.x. it would be nice to play back ups being that i have to buy two games every time so me and my gf can play.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
