Hacking Gateway support for Firmware 9.0 – 9.2 Coming

Alright, even at worst case scenario we can all agree that gateway support for 9.0-9.2 will include ROM loading without the 10 game limit. Even at this unlikely scenario (as i believe they do have a kernel exploit) we can expect (i can´t be sure as of now) to be able to use a cubic ninja rom in other to unlock homebrew features. Even if gateway 9.0-9.2 ends up lacking some substantial features compared to gateway 4.x it is not bad at all if you ask me.

To what extend can you make use of that using Gateway?

I have one for Gateway+Homebrew, the other for my main stuff. (Retail Games, Spending money on eshop, etc.)

Yes, but I'd rather do all my 'legal' stuff on one 3ds rather then the other. If something was to happen to my 4.5, I'd rather be safe with my backup 3DS (which I had before the 4.5) that I poured my money into.

I have a hard time believing that 9.x users will be lacking for long, if at all, in features vs 4.X users.

GW sells a flashcart which is marketed on its ability to run warez... The homebrew is just a bonus, let's be real. Once ssspwn is out, the hype around Cubic Ninja dies down and prices for it become reasonable again, or when another game to exploit is found, if GW only has a cart that can run homebrew while the alternatives exist they won't really have a market and they know it. Speculation this may be, but I think most people would agree the logic is solid: commercial ROM support is a given. And if they can load ROMs it'd take some real magic if all they have is a usermode exploit.

If the above is true, I'd also expect the 4.x features to come pretty fast to 9.x. The work is largely already done they just need to port it to the new firmware. Single ROM per SD may happen, lack of emuNAND and all the other things people have suggested might be missing. Again, it's likely just a matter of porting to the new firmware (not to suggest that it's trivial, mind), and they already have it analyzed enough to release the last update so fast that I didn't even realize there had been a OFW update that broke the previous. Call me a fanboy if you wish, but it is apparent they are getting very good at this and that the 3DS is pretty much wide open to them as long as they have an exploit.

The cocky attitude they show is also a bit telling to me. In their minds they WILL have the best product, and I suspect if the time comes that they can no longer deliver that they will just wander off into the sunset w/o so much as a goodbye. I know many people like this and GW just screams that to me... Largely baseless, I know, but I can totally see them quitting the proverbial hockey team the first time they get their ass handed to them. They've already thrown the bricking tantrum. To me, as long as they keep running their mouths, it's a good sign for their users, even if a bit childish and annoying.

I have no illusions that I could be horribly wrong. I am largely a "prepare for the worst, but hope for the best" kind of guy and I'm really not worried at all about 9.x getting anything less than 4.x in the end. I'm actually ordering a couple for friends for Christmas, that have updated to and been told to stay on 9.x.

Just my thoughts/opinion. If someone has better info than I (facts please) or a more compelling line of logic, by all means let me know... And soon, so I don't waste $120.

once my SD card got corrupted and I lost the emunand, when that happened I lost my account and everything that was in it. So for that reason I keep a legit 3DS with me so I do not put in danger my digital content
