Hey everyone,
I just got my Gateway and I was really stoked to use it but now it is frustrating that it isn't being as easy and smooth as I thought it'd be...
frown.png

I have formatted my Sandisk Ultra 32gb Class 10 card to FAT32 and put everything in the Blue Card folder into the root of it and put it into the blue card. **The Sandisk microSD is BRAND new and never used before, ripped it out of the package as soon as the Gateway came home**

As soon as I click the Labyrinth game on the 3DS Menu, it gets stuck on the "Loading..." screen and doesn't load the Gateway as it should.
I also formatted the main SD card that comes out of the 3ds to FAT32 and let the 3DS format it itself with its emunand before putting the Launcher.dat onto the root of it . I did all this before putting in the blue card.

I've tried another no name 2GB microSD and its a no go. I thought my SanDisk would work because I was trying with the no name 2Gig at first but sandisk still doesn't work.

Can anyone help?!
So far I've tried 3 different microSD cards and putting a microSD in a SD adapter as the SD card and still STUCK on the loading screen....

Ahhhh i really was looking forward to using it today but it seems as if I got a bunk one.... I got mine from Modchip Direct btw so it should be legitimate and not counterfeit...

Your font is really hard to read for users who have the Dark template. You might want to try a lighter color.

Do you have access to any other DS-mode flashcart that you can try? There are quite a few that work fine on 4.4x.

The fact that the game icon is popping up at all leads me to believe that it's either the file structure or the microSD that you're using. I've never used anything larger than 4GB using the Blue Card.

Isn't it just black? I didnt change the font color or anything that's weird...

I have a m3 DS Simply from loong time ago but Idk if that still works with the 3ds..
All I did was copy the contents of the "Blue Card" folder into the root of the microSD after formatting it... am I doing something wrong here?

If you see the _rpg folder, _DSMENU.dat and GW_INSTALLER.nds, then your microSD card is set up correctly. You might try redownloading the Gateway package, formatting the smallest card you have, and trying that one.

Have you tried formatting as FAT(AKA FAT16)? My 128MB MicroSD is formatted as FAT for the blue card, and it works fine.

M3 simply won't work.
It has to be an updated R4i shit clone card (Gateway blue card)

Humm, you need to run the gateway install nds file and install the exploit to yer 3DS.
Just run the installer NDS file and install it.
Then you can use the Red card.

When you say you let the 3DS system format its emuNAND, what do you mean? You can't have installed EmuNAND already without being able to boot into Gateway mode. You have to be on your SysNAND to install GW Mode.

Yup I have all these contents in the microSD card and I have redownloaded the Gateway package twice already. But will try again and get back to you guys.

Not yet, I will try this after seeing your suggestion. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Anyway to go about getting the installer to run?

Sorry I mean't that after formatting the SD card through my computer, I plug it into the 3ds and then I turn the system on and it formats the SD card again and puts the "Nintendo 3DS" folder with its contents on there. Then I add the Launcher.dat afterwards through computer and put the SD card back in.

THIS. You probably just screwed up! Those Chinese manufacturers are pretty reliable these days, trust me I sell these cards for a living.
You're completely biased in the opposite direction and have not been at all helpful to the man.

OP: the blue card and its launcher can be quite a bit more finicky than the red card unit. Make sure all the pins are making contact between your microSD and the card, as well as between the card and your 3DS. It might well have been defective from the get-go or damaged in shipping, however. These things can happen with electronics.

I believe my microSD is formatted to FAT as well.
Tried formatting to FAT with the 2GB (could be a non-brand or Kingston... not sure what brand it is tbh cause it has no brand name on it) and it still gets stuck.

Appreciate the tip, it seems the microSD is firm in there and is still getting stuck..

Keep FAT32.

Try formatting with this tool instead of the default Windows one.

I should've mentioned, I have been using this tool as well as the Windows. Hasn't worked once.

I'm debating on running to my local Walmart to pick up a 4GB microSD to try... the only brand they have for 4gigs are PNY though.. Is PNY a reliable brand?
Unless anyone has anymore suggestions? Thank you everyone for helping me btw, this is rather frustrating and disappointing! But you guys have reminded me of how great of a community GBATemp has and always will be :)

The following must be at the root of your micro sd directory:

__rpg (folder)
_DSMENU.DAT
GW_INSTALLER.NDS

If these 3 files is setup correctly, u might have a defective blue gw3ds card. :(

Yup that's exactly how it is set up... :/ It looks like I possibly could have received a defect... *sigh*

If you know any 1 have a r4i card to work on fw 4.5 n above, you can borrow it n install the nds exploit as is 1 time installation unless you play nds games on that console again. :)

Try diskpart cmd in windows to format the card.

Try updating to 4.5 (luigi's mansion 2) has 4.5 update.

Try a different reader or pc.

If all else fails you may have a faulty card. RMA with the reseller.
