I don't think it's a bug or a design fault, but was done on purpose to sell make cards.

They might remove the limit once the gateway thing is released, if it works.

Don't know if it's been brought up but this brings 2 problems: Updating the card (if it's not going to use a launcher) on 9.x and running the GW blue card (if it still uses it) on 9.x .

maybe need to use a 4.1-4.5 set to do the v9.x patch since they ask 4.1-4.5 users not to update their sets yet~

I don't get why Gateway is getting any hate. I think people are just too used to getting free or super cheap mods for their consoles, and a lot of people just expect (read: demand) a free exploit to be made available eventually, and any company that wants to get paid for their work are a bunch of money-grubbing bastards.

Makes zero sense. The entitlement complex of many pirates just baffles me. I wonder how many people whining about Gateway have ever made a donation to the homebrew and exploit developers who make this all possible.

Maybe it just defaults to being like sky3DS, unless you use profile exploit, ver 5.x and above will probably have to use different method for writing roms to MicroSD card to see them recognized

Still i guess I'm too old, in the past people shared their hacks rather than keep them for themselves and ask for attention, when i look at any console hacking scene these days i tend to facepalm way too much.

Uhm, maybe you missed the memo - but the New 3DS isn't just that the c-stick is a right-side analog stick.
The device is actually stronger hardware wise and will get exclusive titles on it.

Thats the primary reason this person wants to get one. Not for the right-side stick.
So circlepad pro isn't gonna help with that one bit.

That'd be almost completely unlikely. Any patches would be lost in the system update. Besides, why do you think they're advertising that it now works on the latest firmware? For all the people that did update, duh.

Brickway intentionally destroyed many customers 3DS and refused to take responsibility. Later they Came with a silly "Proof" Method and forced users to pay 100 bucks in order to get their device examined (=not necessarily fixed). They now clearly adapted and maybe modified someone elses work because they were too stupid to find a solution the last 2 years and all of a sudden everyone praises them?! Crazy World!

This was what I was thinking too, based on the firmware restriction it makes me assume something with 9.X is being exploited.

I'm sort of curious about this situation... I'm not entirely sure GW is copying necesarilly. Notice how the Sky3DS works up to a certain firmware version, but the Gateway works from 9.0 to 9.2. I think Gateway were working on something already (as had been said before) and they were forced to reveal their hand. There definitely is a 9.x exploit, as otherwise it wouldn't be expected to be patched, and if my theory holds true then two teams have the exploit, possibly Gateway member leaked something, I don't know.

Very confusing situation but I can't wait for it to release to see the comparisons.

Do you remember when GW is still 1 game/sd and MT was release.
Then GW announce that they have solution for multirom, everyone think GW try to make new card copy MT or somehow steal MT work.
And when GW release multirom video, everyone go and praise GW while MT card go back into the shadow.
I think this will happen this time too. GW release 9.x solution, everybody praising it and Sky3DS (and clone) disappear in shadow.
