CFW out with DevMenu that can install .cia --> GW release 2.6 that support DevMenu
with this kind of fact ... i think it's possible if GW will support newer FW than 4.5
i mean with 3ky3ds out, we know that we can play roms in FW 9.x
so we'll just have to wait for GW to figure it out

i know there are people who is hard to get FW 4.5 3ds or wants the new 3ds
and yeah 3ky3ds is a nice option for now
but if i can suggest just wait GW update

I won't buy this, I'm gonna wait for the next Gateway's update.

Remember what they said : "We’ve gotten lots of inquiries about the New 3DS. There’s little we can officially disclose at this moment but we can safely assure you we have some tricks up our sleeves"

That means they probably found a way to run roms on the latest firmware.

As far as I know Gateway never disappointed us, and always brought news features.

So they have my support and I'm sure that we will be able to use the Gateway on the latest firmware. They maybe prefer to wait.

Sky is out but Nintendo can maybe patch it.... before the new 3DS is out in Europe and in the US.

I would prefer to wait.

Sky just wants to make quick money in my opinion. Because they know Gateway will release soon their big update.

:)

Oh well, if only I knew more about the inner workings of the 3DS and how the CFWs work... I'd try my luck with them. Still, I know they're pretty limited atm, what really worries me is doing something like accidentally writing the emuNAND on the sysNAND.

It's funny to hear that in the US they overprice 4.xxx consoles, here where I live I got a 4.xxx 3DS for a discount, apparently people think that "older firmware is bad" or the salesman was just trying to get rid of their goods. Anyway, I find Nintendo views their consoles as money printers and this upsets me, I don't feel bad for pirating anymore. I'm not getting a N3DS unless they give me a trade-in, which is very unlikely to happen where I live. So Gateway it is, can't wait for the big guns.

Gateway won't be able to implement this via some magic software update. This is a totally different type of hardware than Gateway.
Yea? How exactly do you know this? Maybe thats exactly all its going to take. Fact of the matter is you cant say this until someone has actually gotten a good look at it.

There's clearly a huge hardware difference. First of all, Gateway isn't recognized as a retail cart. It also doesn't have a hardware button. If Gateway could have implemented this technology as software they would have already.

I agree. May be they will release the new Gateway when they discover how to make their product compatible with the latest version.

I am sure that they are working on it, but we just don know for when it will be complete. They don want to lose the competition that is y they stated like that.

This discussion repeats every freaking time some new development happens. And it's always impossible to patch the Gateway, etc., etc., yada, yada.. and then weeks later Team Gateway comes up with a solution and people just walk away whistling like they never said anything. They will find away around it, they always do.

Well, given that with the New 3DS, and with the inevitability of people getting said console (esp. those with a Gateway), they pretty much have no choice but to find a way to have their card work with newer firmware. I mean, because there's no way to install emuNand from one console to another, so another exploit must be found.

10 for the Sky 3DS. Someone also said you can only load the games one time. So if you load 5 games the first time, it's locked in. You cannot load another 5. You can only load up to 10 the very first time.

this has been explained so many times and people still find it hard to get their heads around it, the limit is 10
It's 10 for one Sky or 10 for one microSD ?

10 games on one micro sd card, that's it, you cannot change microsd with different games as the sky3ds will not read them. if you want to do that you have to buy another sky3ds card. how many times has this question been asked and still people do not understand.

you can load 1 game the first time it but once you reach to the 10 linit it will not allow any more roms to be read by the card. it's up to you how you add the cards to micro sd card. but don't think that you can load one and delete it off the card and put another on there and load that as that will still count as two roms, the previous ron will be held on the card.................................sudeki300

up to this point the issues have been software related, sky3ds presents a hardware roadblock and theres not much they can do about it. its like needing a better video card for your pc, you cant just download a new one.

unless gateway finds an exploit to run on the latest firmware, they'll have to resort to releasing a new card. I can see them releasing a hybrid gateway/sky3ds card without the 10 game limit in the near future.
