how do i play this and put it on my gateway sd card to play these games??? please help

Those are files to verify if the download isn't damaged, i can't provide any links to copyrighted content on this forum but a simple google search should point you towards the correct download link. A 3DS rom should be in a .3ds format.

They are basically the same as .wad files for the wii. They contain app data for a homescreen app (like a eshop game). We can't really use them at the moment, there is a laggy glitchy leak for installing them but it isn't really worth using in its current state.

edit: CIA stands for Ctr Importable Archive, makes it easier to remember.

hey temp, I'm having trouble getting my Ak2i working on my 3DS (as a Gateway Blue Card). Did some googling and updated the cart on my DSL to work with 3DS firmware 4.3 (afaik the last update). It still isn't detected by my 3DS (but shows in the DSL). I've tried both AKAIO 1.9 and the official firmware 4.23. Am I just supposed to use different files or something? 3DS is 4.2.0-9u

edit: I wanna try to format system memory, but it keeps warning about losing all SD files. Does this include saves? I can backup the firmware if that'll save it

edit2: also my actual Blue card still has black "an error has occurred" when it's detected.

After the gateway Public release of 2.6, Im introduced to "CIA" files and Devmenu. Can someone tell me what these basically are?

ok maybe I found my culprit, from left to right upside-down the inside of my 3DS Cartridge slot looks like this:

123456789 etc

"4-6" are missing those gold pins that are bent a certain way. Not sure how my GW was running this whole time or why it still reads DS games, but I take it this has to be replaced, right? Also been making an obnoxious squeaking noise and possible moving rattled it...

Acekard 2i works fine up to (and including) 3DS 4.3.0.

Yea, SDXC should work as long as you format it in the exFAT format.
edit: only SD cards that size for 22 euros are a little suspecious, they could be fake. I don't know for sure tho, i can't read french ^^''

Amazon does, in fact, sell counterfeit SD cards. But i don't really think that you should worry.

Thx for answer man, but I still don't get it.
If they are so useless, why are everybody so hysteric about this .CIA installation ( especially since GW team issued a new update).
Can anyone please explain me (in simple words) what is average Joe getting when he installs .CIA file? My knowledge ends with dump running, I am afraid.

I have a regular DS flashcart (R4 Gold).

How does the DS Profile exploit work on the Flash cart? Can I still keep my data (roms/saves) on my DS flashcart and still initiate the exploit, or at they mutually exclusive? I have a 32GB microSD plugged into it and I want to know if I can use that same card to launch CFW and still play my DS games.

I’m thinking about getting a 3DS (or even a flatty 2DS), I used to have a M4 for my old NDS and would like to get a new one to run 3DS games, last time I checked the cartridges for N3DS didn’t run 3DS games yet… I’m wondering if that changed by now.

If so, could you suggest me a type of cartridge and a good website to order it from (EU pref)?

I just got a 3DS with 4.1 firmware, I installed the Gateway .nds from the website with a R4 card I had and now I can backup games and backup my NAND.

Is there a way to create an EmuNAND partition without the red card? Thanks in advance!

Ive got a gateway card running monster hunter 4g on it, and i was wondering if anyone knew how to enable the online...

I used my own header from a few different games, and i got smash to work online, but i cant get monster hunter...

Is it because its a japanese game? or am i just attempting to use the wrong headers?

From everything ive seen 2ds's dont work because they come with the wrong firmware, and gateway is supposed to be the best, as it offers the most features/compatibility
