What are the future odds of a non-devmenu CIA installation option? I am trying to remain legal, but it is so tempting... :P

The functions are in ctrulib, and profi says he has one in the works, though unsure of releasing or not.

Some miracle just happened:

I successfully created a .cia file, and it works!

I converted Asphalt 3D so that I can access my old save file.

Now.. where do I put my old save file, the one that is 128mb? ><

I am still struggling with the rsf file. I have no idea which one to use at this point ^^

Currently working on making a .3DS for Kid Icarus - Uprising, as well as a CIA. Would both of these have the same rsf? Which rsf should I use? I decrypted the game with the "Rom Editing Made Easy" zip I found somewhere on the forums, and the latest version of makerom is being used instead of the one supplied in that dir. Any tips?

Also, windwakr, I did not know that GW had ninty code in it. In for a penny, in for a pound I guess.

Not too surprised.

At least I tried XDD

I find it ridiculous if I have to replay every old game that I convert to .cia...

Just so you know, the game I converted was using SDK 5.x, min FW 6.x and it works as CIA. So you can convert other things than only "old" games ^^.

Two questions, then:
1. What -desc:app setting did you use with makerom?
2. Were you booted into Gateway mode when you launched that CIA in the picture, or were you booted into this CFW?

My issues was gateways weird system,
where games saves bigger than 128mb had their saves saved at 512,
and when backing up from retail carts, it's only 128.

With that issue, I couldn't interchange the saves.

Le sigh.

I posted a (mostly) complete package for generating .rsf and converting .3ds to .cia here http://gbatemp.net/threads/4-x-only-cia-cfw-complete-guide.373532/page-31#post-5147322 Should make everything in working format

I just got A Link Between Worlds to work on this CFW. How can one tell what SDK a game is compiled with?

Google, 3dsexplorer, hexeditor...

This is really strange...I can compile a cia with makerom.exe version .13, but I can't compile when I compile version .13 on linux...

What needs to happen in order for Smash to be installed as a cia through devmenu?

Easiest, use Gateway. :P Or wait for someone to update the CFW to use newer firmwares and decryption keys.

-desc:4
I was in gateway mode as I formated the SD card on which I had installed the CFW to put the needed files to generate xorpads.

Does anyone know how to compile the sources of the xorpad tool into an launcher.dat ? I got one by MP but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have 7.x keyx in it because when I try to use the tool to make the exefs.xorpad from the norm and 7.x crypto it says me this :
