Hacking 3DS XL SD card problems after flash hardmod

Hi! I need advice from someone who really knows 3DS XL hardware (If anybody does). I've finished my hardmod - it seems good - I've checked my connections, and there's no short. I turned my 3DS XL on and it booted normally, but when I inserted my SD card I got an error: "Cannot display software on the SD Card. The SD Card could not be accesed". Similiar thing happens when trying to launch flashcard's exploit - it kicks me to system menu and shows an error saying that the software cannot be executed, or somethin like this :/ While making my mod I've accidently soldered two pins of one of thousands microchip, but I was sure I've reapaired it. Currently I can't make a photo of my motherboard, because of stripped screw, but as soon as I remove it I will post an image. I'll try to remove mod asap, maybe one of wires shorts to some point on motherboard, because I've used theese realy thin wires from headphones and they are just varnished instead of isolated by polimer, so there might be a point where I've damaged this varnish and my wire shorts.

Anyone have an idea what I did wrong, or have similiar issue to tell me his/her observations?

Looks like you burned off 3 pads to the left of the NAND.

It's normal that the "SD card" can't be accessed, as there's nothing for a PC to read on it. Create a couple of images, compare their checksums and if they match you're good to go.

Thanks for reply, but I think you didn't understand me well. I mean that 3DS XL can't acces real SD card (not adapter used for connecting 3DS to pc., not my PC. I didn't plugged my 3DS to computer yet.

have you tried different SD cards, or tried inserting it a few times, also if you go to data management you can see if the SD card has been detected properly as it will say "available blocks" so you can try inserting it a bunch of times, i had a 3ds with similar issues once from where someone had shoved something inside the SD slot or something so it was very pick about getting it to read a SD card and most of the time did exactly as you are describing, but with enought playing about it would actually read the card

also guys just to note he is saying the 3DS is not detecting SD cad, not that the nand mod isnt working, also in the OP it does say that picture is not of his 3DS

in that case i would try to format the sd card/use another sd card

in this case everything is probably fine, as the computer cant access the 3ds.

Thanks - I've tried with another card - same issue. In data management there's information, that SD Card couldn't be accesed.

I'm talking about SD Card from my 3DS, which used to work properly with my 3DS earlier. It's not damaged - my PC can read it without any problems. I'm not connecting device to PC. Just turning on 3DS.

It does indeed sound like a short, you've used enameled wire so you could easily have accidently stripped it and shorted inside the case or shorted the pads on the resistor when you were soldering and not cleaned up well enough, it would be much easier to help if you could provide photos of your work or at least remove the mod to see if that is the cause. Also, if you have a multimeter, please check the pads on the resistor for shorts it would be much easier than just guessing.

You mean that microchip? I'll try asap, but now I have some my work to do. And I need to figure how to get rid of that damn screw :/

Yes, that microchip is a resistor array, if you put your multimeter in continuity mode and try the pad's that you shorted originally it should give you no reading or low ohm, if you get continuity you've got a short there and that could be causing the issue though I'm not sure that'd be the cause as I'm not entirely sure what that resistor array is used for.

pretty sure a short on that resistor array would mean the 3DS wouldn't boot up, that's connected to the data lines of the nand,

I thought that might be the case too but wasn't entirely sure, I do think that if the mod is removed and it still doesn't work then it will require photos of the board to see if there is anything else a miss. Hopefully there's no permanent damage caused.

I hope there aren't. Maybe my motherboard got crushet a bit, when I tried to screwdrive too big screw which caused hole in 3DS case. There wasn't motherboard, but maybe the plastic thread enlarged a bit and caused microdamage to motherboard around it. But it seems to be nonsense...
