Funny as us poor saps in the usa don't have it yet. I would be surprised if it did because Nintendo is always lagging by months. Pre production after going gold takes time so I don't think 5.1.2 was out long enough..

I as well need to know if Hyrule Warriors contains a update on the disc because it very well might save my Wii U. I have the vWii IOS58 brick after accidently replacing my vWii IOS58 with a regular Wii IOS58 thus I cannot update my Wii U via the Internet or access Nintendo Network at all. I've had this issue for about six months now and it's impossible to fix without a game that contains a Wii U update later than 4.1 because I don't have a vulnerable ios installed to reinstall, install or change anything and no cIOS so please if anyone has any indication on what update is on the disc please tell us. Thanks :)

I don't think 5.1.2 contains any vWii update data

I can confirm Hyrule Warriors does NOT have a System Update on the disc. I purchased it today in hopes it would so I could fix my IOS58 issue. Also just a fyi when you insert the game it has to update the game. This is a MANDATORY patch to play the game. No Internet connection too bad. I called Nintendo and they confirmed to me that if you have previously connected your console to the Internet and no longer have access to the Web You can not play it without reconnecting and downloading the patch.

well for me I just started to play it but I didn't need to update, it still wanted to. I had to disconnected from the internet just by changing the preferred internet settings to something that's not being used. I loaded the game and it didn't connect to the internet so no update and it still gave me the choice of playing witout connection

Thanks a bunch, it worked for me as well. Now I wish I could just fix this damn IOS58 problem so I could get back online :'(

glad to be of help

.

I am not sure any WiiU update will fix a vWii problem? Has anyone confirmed this for you?

I say this because I don't think the updates do anything to vWii IOS because if they did we would likely need to rehack our vWii after an update.

Do you crash during an online update or does it just abort? Or maybe can't connect to NNID so can't update?

I am just curious what firmware version are you on? A higher disc update may update your system but your vWii mode may still be cooked. I bet Nintendo has something that they can fix the vWii or reload it entirely but you may not be able to do it until WiiU gets fully hacked.

I'm on version 4.1.0 I read on a few other threads that people have updated via disc and it fixed the same IOS58 issue. I'll edit this post with links. What intially happened was about 6 months back. I accidently replaced my vWii IOS58 with a Wii IOS58 while trying to setup nintendont. At first it was not a issue and the only problem was I could no longer use my Homebrew channel, it would not load and the only thing I could do is run Homebrew via smashstack but with no cIOS installed and my IOS58 being corrupt I didn't have a vulnerable IOS to change, install or reinstall anything. So I gave up and figured my Wii U side would be fine, then Nintendo pushed out 5.0. Ever since then when I try to update via the Internet it gives me a error. I think it's 162-3006. I have tried at the very least 40 times. It downloads the 650mb update fine but when I install it errors at 90% - 99% Nintendo has also changed their terms of service and the only way to accept is to update. I can't update so I can't use any online functionality now.

Nintendont doesn't need ios58 changed. It says that in great big red letters. Guess you just have to wait until Smash. You got 2 more months.

Not every firmware update touches vWii - however check WiiImpersonator to see if IOS58 is ever changed.

The gamecube controllers will apparently work with vWii so when super smash bros. is released, vWii will have to be updated.

Actually, NTSC-U Hyrule Warriors DOES have an update on-disc -- it just has 4.1.0, though. I hadn't turned on my Wii U in probably a year, didn't have an internet connection set up so no updates could download, and when I put the Hyrule Warriors disc in it updated me to 4.1.0.

Okay so just to get things straight, Hyrule Warriors has 4.1.0 on it, and doesn't force you to go online to update to play? I might be getting a Wii U soon and I want it on a 'safe' firmware for future homebrew.. and I really want to play Hyrule Warriors, but that'll be no good if it won't play without going online.
