it doesnt matter unless you have a jap 3ds then you should change header and rename to .3dz

Things that didn't work

• Formatting the microSD card (both as exfat and fat32)
• Renaming the file
• Switching microSD cards (from kingston to sandisk)
• Turning the wireless switch off/on

Oh, I think I read a few of the demo users having issues with a 2gb SD card in their 3ds's sd card slot, so I'm trying a 4gb and updating the emunand now.. I'll post my results.

well, i switched my 3ds's internal sd card from a 2gb to 8gb and

NOW MY BLACK SCREEN IS BACKLIT

this is progress i guess. I didn't format emunand and re-update, I just copied the files.

Only .3dz roms can even try to go online so you should be ok. If you want to be extra safe just use http://tinyurl.com/GRPv0-6 to clear the header or replace it with one of your own. It's not like we can go online anyway thanks to the day 1 update shenanigans.

Anyone willing to decrypt the rom's filesystem? All I know is that a Gateway + 3DS is required, and I don't have the latter. Hopefully someone here can do it.

Currently formatting emunand to a 4gb shdc card. let's hope that works. Still using the 2.3 beta but that's the same as the release on the gateway site right?

Welp.. 4GB internal SD card with updated emunand success!

Looks like if you have the black screen issue, you may want to change your SD card and hope it's bigger than 2GB.

Mine was black for about 15 seconds then loaded up, though I am using 16gb SD and 64 SD Micro...both Samsung class 10 cards. Have emunand updated to the latest firmware as well.
