Yes, but measures have been taken/implemented so that it doesn't report false positives and so far, there have been no reports of bricks on the newest firmware for Gateway carts that weren't believed to be user error.

is it present on the mt-card? I want zero risk of bricking... Shipping is ultra expensive for me... I can't afford sending my 3ds for unbricking if it bricks.

I can't answer that with 100% certainty, as I have no skill whatsoever in analyzing code. But if MT-Card are truly just copying Gateway's launcher 1:1, then that is a guaranteed yes.

Well to be honest I don't think there is such a thing as 100% security from bricks when it comes to 3DS flashcards, using Gateway is as safe as it gets ^^

Nobody can say for sure. The general consensus is that the brick code is still there (hence little updates from clone manufacturers), but it has been perfected to the point that it does not target actual users.

I doubt MT Card is going to announce that they use the gateway firmware if they do use it, I agree that Gateway is currently the best bet for not bricking your console.

MT pretty much announced it on their website, they uploaded a video with GW3D displayed in the settings....they have since removed the video and reshot it to hide it, but it was on their site for a whole day....but thats as close to an admission you will get from them

MT-Card seems like the safest bet, considering we haven't seen a report of a single user getting their console bricked by using it. Gateway and the R4 have both had their share of bricked users in the past, but they've stepped up the game slightly to hopefully ensure it won't happen again.

If you don't want bricking code running on your console, the safest bet would be to use older flashcard firmware. If you want to do multi-rom and run some of the newer games, grab an MT-Card.
