To be fair, Resident Evil 5 came out in, what, 2008, 2009? Why would it be on the Wii U?

Plus, I don't see how not having RE 5 and 6 is a bad thing. It seems like Capcom did you a favor.

Resident Evil 6 wasn't good, but RE5 was.
Oh, so there can be crappy ports to the Wii U but not an old game?
Nah lets make more Assassins Creed ports, see how that will go.

Except it's not. It was a step down from RE4 in every way with a shitty co-op system tacked on. Get some taste, son.

Yeah, basically. The Assassin's Creed games are new and in-demand, so of course they got ports. Ubisoft only ported over the new entries (AC 3, AC 4) to the Wii U anyway, and even those didn't do particularly well. If new entries in one of the most popular franchises don't do well on the system, what great demand is there for a port for a shitty 5 year old game?

Are you posting from Egypt? 'Cause you seem to be in de-nial.

Shitty in your opinion, I played RE4 and RE5, honestly I find both great, its just, people are so close minded.

"Close minded."

You're talking to a person who was hyped as fuck for RE5 and gave it all the chances in the world. "I don't like this game because it plays worse than RE4 and has terrible co-op" does not equal "close minded."

But just because you don't like it, doesn't necessarily makes it shitty... just saying.

I don't like it because it's shitty.

Do we really have to go through the "It's just your opinion!" tango here? Come on, son, get it together.

That's basically what it is, I've played the game extensively and currently playing with clarky and honestly, I find the game good, in some aspects better than RE4, although having a bad team member fucks up your gameplay and playing with the AI is like punching your own dick, regardless its an ok game, why do people expect every game has to be the same? Just look at Call of Duty, almost every game is the same and people still complain, now look at RE4 and RE5, both are different and people still complain.

It's a shitty game because it's a shitty RE game. They threw out just about everything that defined a Resident Evil game in the past except the main story (that they did no favors to by the end of the game), and it just became another action shooter game in another setting, not all that different from the dozens of other shooting games you could buy at the time. RE4 was considered amazing because it held onto those "shit your pants" moments of fear while keeping a survivor horror feel in the gameplay itself. RE5 abandoned everything good about RE4 to try to appeal to a broader audience, and by broader audience, I mean people really into Call of Duty.

Think of it this way:
On its own, Dead Space 3 isn't a bad game. It's a reasonable action-y shooter game. When holding the Dead Space title though, it's absolute shit because it did a 180 from everything that made the original scary and fun. It's the same story with RE5. On its own, it isn't necessarily a bad game, but when trying to hold it to the standard of Resident Evil, it's a flaming pile of poo.

Actually it kinda does because the company is trying something new in which people won't appreciate it because its not the same as the previous installment.
disliking something does not make one closed minded. You could argue that not trying something does, but to say that anybody who dislikes the game is closed minded for not liking it is... well closed minded to opinions that differ from your own.

I watched TB's first impression of Sacred 3 and he said it's ridiculous to invalidate criticism of a sequel for being untrue to its predecessors because the company is obviously using the name to sell copies of the game. I agree, and if what people say about RE5/RE6 compared to previous games is true (I say that because I haven't played any RE game besides Revelations), then Gahars criticism is definitely valid.

There's a huge difference between, "hey, lets add some new stuff to the sequel to freshen and tighten it up," and "let's make an entirely different game that's not the same genre or soul at all, but is still branded as a mainline sequel, just to reach a more mainstream audience."

Closed minded basically means one is not accepting this or that because its different from what it was instead of giving a chance and actually try it, which brings me to this

Holy shit he said he tried the game. He played it. He tried to like it. He didn't because it wasn't even really RE anymore. It isn't some complex opinion formation derived from knowing nothing about the game, nor ever playing it. It isn't close minded to dislike a game because it is entirely different from the rest of the series it shares its name with (see: my Dead Space 3 example). It also isn't close minded to dislike the game because it's shit, which RE5 pretty much is.

You can like a game, but don't attack and insult people when they share the rather popular opinion that the game sucks. You just look like an idiot and a dick. A dickiot, if you will.

I don't attack people based on what they like nor care honestly

I still stand about what I said, just because people don't like it, it doesn't make it a shitty game, at least not for me, I enjoy the game just like I enjoy RE4 and even the first Resident Evil game.

Wow, other than some aosin (thank you flash blocker) it seems like a missed an amusing thread.

I would have something to add to the RE5 discussion but its arcade feel and co-op (I am a sucker for edit local and shouting distance lan co-op and it causes me to overlook a lot) would make it pointless.

If that was all you said, that would be fine. But that's not all you said, you suggested someone was closed minded just for disliking a game that you like.
