And I, for one, am Bio-shocked.
The original BioShock will soon be released for iPhone and iPad, publisher 2K Games has announced.

The port will be compatible with iPad 4, iPad Mini 2 and iPad Air, plus iPhone 5, 5S and 5C. There's no word yet on a firm release date or price.

But like 2K's Grand Theft Auto re-makes, you can expect BioShock iOS (BiOShock?) to be a "premium priced" release with no added micro-transactions.

Touch-optimised controls and iPhone game controller support are included, but apart from that 2K is keen to stress that it is the same game you know and love.

What's more, the author spent an hour with the title and claims that the port is as faithful as one could hope (or more so, if you're a pessimist like that). There's no word yet on a release date, so any issues may yet be fixed by then.

So, GBAtemp iProduct owners, I ask you... Will you buy-o'-shock?

Screw the Android port, where's the PSVita port? Seriously, there's no reason why one wouldn't exist - it's a full-scale game, the Vita is a full-scale gaming device - step it up, 2K.

Considering how Bioshock Infinite for PS Vita was cancelled, I doubt they see the Vita as a viable platform. Has 2K released any games on Vita?

It was supposed to be a spin-off to Infinite, not an Infinite port, and development never started. Technically Borderlands 2 was originally published by 2K, but the PSVita version was published by Sony as far as I know, so I don't know if we can count that.

Where is the Android port?
It'll most likely get a port a year or so after the iOS game is released, since that's what happened to pretty much every other big iOS game that was ported to Android, like 2K's port of XCOM: Enemy Unknown took around a year or so.

Though with stuff like Apportable becoming a thing (which essentially compiles Object C/C++ for Android) porting stuff should be more or less a bit quicker than before...

To be fair I think everyone's played Bioshock to hell and back if they liked it or at least once if they didn't. I don't think I'd want to pay $40 for a seven year old game that I got for like $5 in a Humble Bundle.

inb4 iPad is a viable speedrunning platform.

I hope they don't patch the glitches in the game's route, I've actually been thinking about running bioshock on PC, It would be cool to practice on the go.

They could at least port this to make up for the cancelled Bioshock Vita game. :(

if appleTV eventually gets apps
if this run at 1080p on said appleTV
if this support MFI gamepads (it'll definitely do)
if this open the gates for a number of other ps3/x360-era AAA titles ports

= kinda cool

That would mean playing Bioshock with 1-2W of power draw (plus monitor/hdtv of course).
That's like, 1/100 the power draw of a ps3/x360.

All the compatible devices listed are A6 or later, so the current A5-based appleTV (A1469) wouldn't be powerful enough.
They'll probably release an A6 based one in the next few months though.

Dat horrible puns.
They used to be way better ;/

I imagine the controls being incredibly awkward.
I'm a Bioshock fan but won't get an apple device for this.
