They'll have some type of banning system up, but there'll be ways to circumvent it. If this gets released, cheats will be all over online.

I dont think Nintendo will Ban People, its not their style, maybe the will realese a new update with a new and difficult encryption and new patches to allow Online for some games, like they did with Pokemon x and Mk7.

Hope you have your own emunand code and can create threads... if you are incapable of having both, then you probably won't be able to use this.

well he said we need a way of getting back to the home menu without completely restarting the machine.
So i think we could use it with Gateway if it is compiled in .3ds

Hmmmm afaik only smealum has his "own" emunand code :ha:

The .3ds homebrew is self contained, once you exit it to go into a game it won't be running so patches wouldn't be applied to a game once you exit out, the threads would be more like a service that is always running....like street pass

i use action replay and its great but i dont like the fact that i need online for full use of the device nor edit or create cheats

Smash for the 3DS is the first game so far that will use a banning system.
Yeah i heard about that months ago and the ban will be temporal , they will monitorate and ban people just for leaving a match but if this is the first game with banning system this means that will be safe to use Cheat codes online in older games?

It's kind of hard to say for 100% certain because this thing isn't even out in the wild so who knows how Nintendo will handle it. Nobody really even knows for certain what Nintendo is and is not capable of doing (can they or can they not detect things like the spliced headers on ROMs for instance.)

While I personally think that it is unlikely that they would roll out a banning system for older, already established games, nobody will really be able to say for certain until the actual Cheat Code program is released and see just how it accomplishes the modifications. If it's something that only works using software modded 3DS units on 4.x firmware, then the likelihood of catching monkey business goes down since we all can agree that these systems make up a small proportion of overall systems that connect online right now. You could look at it as trying to find needles in haystacks. Now if it is something that higher firmwares can use, then that adds a lot more needles and makes the haystack a whole lot smaller, so it will be much easier for Nintendo to see that something weird is going on, allowing them to actively start to track it.

Well if you make legit pokemon via the cheats you're probably not going to get banned for that. It'll be just like before I owned an R4 and used pokegen to export cheat files to create pokemon and pressed L+R and boom my party is now my pokegened pokemon.

It's not as convenient as editing a sav file and just adding them to your box, but better than breeding for 12 hours.

Also why are people so hooked on "homebrew"
-- We can already play games, online too; so why want a peice of crap "homebrew" game or program that doesn't do crap. I just don't see the use in community made homebrew (other than the fun in making the program ^_^)

But what we don't have is a convenient way of sav editing/"cheating" and getting our flashcarts into firmwares 4.5+

I think the priority is:
Gen pokemon > Gut the console down to every bit being under the user's control running under SU regardless of firmware> homebrew tetris

I just need 3ds flashcarts to get to well ds flashcart status. 10$, and it's a piece of gold.

OK. You can stick to that.

In these days of easy dev options for andrios I would agree it is not as pressing as times past (there was a time when there were not such open devices with as much power and/or that it was hard to connect a useful device to your TV). However if you think homebrew is all someone compiling example code and making weak versions of popular games I would say you do not know homebrew at all. Indeed I would hold the strongest versions of Tetris on the GBA were homebrew (lockjaw/tetanus on drugs being a prime example), minna no soft tetris was good though but that did not appear outside Japan.

Fortunately we have features for situations like this, one overview of them http://gbatemp.net/threads/links-to-various-gbatemp-features-over-the-years.352851/

That said if pokemon hacking is your priority then it probably says other things.

Good bye Pokemon X/Y or any other online game.

imo, i think a cheat code system will actually help to boost sales (datel made a lot of money from the pokemon games because of their cheat devices), i enjoyed creating my own custom pokemon in the past, it's the only reason i haven't touched the recent ones because you can't mess around with the pokemon, some people may care for online but i don't tbh.

You can with PokeGen, but only with <Gen 5 Poke's.

I like playing pokemon competitively, and like trying out different parties and don't enjoy spending hours to possibly make 1 pokemon. Whether it's the official game + tool or flashcart I don't care as long as I can "Hack" my "Legit" pokemon ^_^
(I don't enjoy any other nintendo games to be honest)

You can with PokeGen, but only with <Gen 5 Poke's.

Considering PKHeX is compatible with Cyber Gadget, there already is a way to 'PokeGen' for gen 6.

Cyber Gadget pricing on online websites has skyrocketed due to the new demand, and a few JP carts are being imported. Guess it's selling more stock... ;)
