Yes I am sure that Mariokart 8 sold a shitload, Wii U owners have literally had nothing of note to play in ages, what else are they going to buy? If I throw some rotten meat at a group of starving dogs they will eat it up after all.

And Mariokart selling 35 million on the Wii means nothing, there were 100 million Wii owners out there to buy Mariokart wii. Do you seriously think Mariokart 8 will sell anywhere near that? Because if you do you are delusional when the Wii U has sold 6 million consoles in almost three years.

And I have to laugh at the Nintendo fanboy smugness, having the audacity to use the word "original" when talking about a game in its 8th iteration lol. Nintendo don't have an original bone in their body, they are incapable of coming up with new ideas. The bottom line is Nintendo games on consoles don't appeal to the vast majority of gamers. You are the minority. If people gave two shits about Nintendos oh so original and expertly grafted offerings the Wii U would be number one, not stone cold last after a two year head start. So if you enjoy what you enjoy that's fine, but get off your little pedestal and put your bullhorn away.

Do you see where it is going?
Do not fool yourself, and be biased over Nintendo.
It does'nt mean shit.Be open to fantasy, enjoy originality (that you can find on non Nintendo consoles).

Ps exlusives: last of us, uncharted, uhm... oh yeah! killzone and resistance!

So original... I think I played those games hundred of times before.

I suppose Microsoft is more original than Nintendo with them keep banging out more versions of Halo then katie price has popped out kids! and the PS4 with its....... oh sorry, hold on a minute, I will be back on that one, I could not think of anything original on the Playstation, its just shit!!!, fullstop!

Nintendo aren't original then!!! Well then for a start, know it all, they where the first ever company to develop a home console for the Video Game Market and the rest just copied, second Mario was developed and that started off a whole craze of cartoon character games to copy! Next was the touch screen on the NDS and Sony copied! I could go on and on but I'm not, no need!!! ;) Its just a matter of time before Microshaft & Phony, copy the 3D screen! or have a separate controller for the home console so you can carry around and keep playing your games on without the need of a TV!!!

I believe that it's always more important that a game relies on having great gameplay over graphics, and while I think Nintendo devs tried their to give Wii U owners the best graphics on the system on games such as Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World and Sonic Lost World these games while they look stunning do have graphical flaws here and there so they somewhat disappoint in its graphical department.

Now I'm not saying they look bad, they're pretty nice looking but considering we're in 2014 it feels like the graphics could've been better.

Here's some screens I've took from games I've been playing on my Wii U:

zlCfzSDUYGEOKdxTSI

zlCfzSDOxI0j6lbNV7

zlCfzSDGJPoxMWuwpl

zlCfzSCzjWo4_5r9ik

zlCfzSClexo_mUQl_j

zlCfzSChMG4fgftm5h

zlCfzSA2_7w9r4GsuX

zlCfzR-3pW4b1UNaFO

Still, Sonic Lost World is definitely the best looking Wii U game to date everything about it looks gorgeous and if anyone were to get the one game which shows Wii U's graphical potential at its maximum, SLW is the pick!

It would be pretty awesome if new "Next gen" consoles were released in 2016 by all 3 gaming giants with backwards compatibility for last gen (current gen) games.
I feel like that needs to happen, or consoles will die.

I'm not the one who likes shooters and graphix.

NIN10DOH, DONT HAS THE BOOM BOOM
There's nothing inheritently wrong in liking good graphics or shooters, y'know - there's plenty of good good-looking games, even more good shooters. You're saying it as if "being a shooter" or "having good graphics" was a bad thing, and you're the one pulling the close-minded gamer card at the same time.

That, and:
  • God of War
  • Ratchet & Clank
  • Sly Cooper
  • Jak & Daxter
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • WipeOut
  • Invizimals
  • EverQuest
  • Ico series (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus)
  • Buzz!
  • Gravity Rush
  • Syphon Filter
  • Everybody's Golf
  • Uncharted
  • KillZone
  • Resistance
  • The Last of Us (hoping for a sequel, Naughty Dog!)
  • Twisted Metal
  • Fat Princess
  • Gran Turismo
  • inFamous
  • MLB: The Show
  • MediEvil
  • ModNation Racers
  • MotorStorm
  • Ape Escape
  • SingStar
  • SOCOM
  • Sports Championships
...among other less notable titles like Journey or Tokyo Jungle. Y'know, in case we were broadly generalizing or something.

The hostility spme people have towards FPS and TPS is pretty silly in all honesty.

Close minded gaming cards?

I like shooters, you know. I love them. Are they original? No. I also love Nintendo games, specially Zelda. Do I prioritize graphics? No. Do I like them? Sure, I love when a game looks great. I started playing on a PC, and I have a great one at the moment... it's not because I went to the store and said GIVE ME SOMETHING and pulled out 2000 dollars, I hand picked the parts because I know what I'm doing and I know what I want. I love playing BF4 on Ultra settings at 70 FPS, and I cream my pants when I play Paracel Storm and starts raining...

On the other hand, guys like Mcguild always post the same crap over and over again... NIN10DOH, GO UNCHARTED, GRAPHIX>KIDDIE GAMES.

Seriously, I'm the one that's close minded? Please...

Stop posting the same trolling crap over and over again. It's getting old.

Does graphics really matter for Nintendo? Like c'mon, Nintendo is a great console, and all, but arguing over something that is not even news any more is amusing lol.

Also, Nintendo isn't even a hardcore graphic whore, so why people tend to make it that way? Its just pointless since it has 7th gen hardware, and has an audience of mature gamers that doesn't care for realistic graphics.

Gosh, I read the whole topic and the whole thing has gone off-topic.

It's obvious that the systems are different, people that really enjoy games shouldn't be blinded by any single company, be it Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft. People may say all the shit they want, but they all have their good points.
As strange as it may seem, I bought a 360 several years ago, simply because it had the rpg's I wanted to play. The PS3 didn't have any at the time, nor did Nintendo (and I'm talking J-RPG's here, in a system that is avoided like the plague in Japan).
Brand loyalty is a stupid thing really, if a system has games you want, you should buy it.

If anyone can get all their gamming needs on a single system, without (or refusing to) trying the others then they're pretty simple minded.

Like the NDS and the PSP, I enjoyed the DS the most out of those two, since it had more rpg's that I liked, but the PSP also has really good ones and I'd be stupid not to play them just for being in a different handheld.

----

On topic though, like previously mentioned, the Wii U still hasn't seen it's best, it usually takes a long time.

Just because a game is a shooter doesn't mean that it can't be original in any way. Metroid Prime is a shooter and it's one of the best games the Gamecube ever had to offer. Halo is a shooter and it put the Xbox on the map back in the day. Not every single shooter goes along the lines of "this is an enemy - press X while aiming to win", some shooters go deeper than that and blaming the entire genre for the shortcomings of a handful of games is unreasonable. Same goes to graphics - they're important, graphics are the tools that make aesthetics come to life and they are to be admired. A good game can be spoiled by bad graphics and vice versa, great graphics can be spoiled by poor gameplay. Everything in a video game has to work in-tandem and pretending that graphics don't matter at all is silly and naive. Perpetuating both mindsets does sound close minded, at least in my opinion - in no way less than "ha ha, kiddy games!" does.

My point of view;
If the graphics are not as good as the competitors but still makes good quality games that look good than there should be no constant shitting on that console.
If the console can't get enough 3rd party support such as the wii u than don't buy the console.
Unless we really see the full potential of a Realistic game on the Wii u than we can judge is limit just as we see are just lame ass ports or cartoon visual games. Games such as Uncharted, God of War, or the last of us looked very good on the ps3 and people thought it was gonna be a fail but it became very successful minus the high price and hard architecture.
Graphics DOES make a game but it does not make an excuse to beast out on a systems graphics to overlap game play and story plot which Nintendo excels at.

You really need to carefully read my comments. I'm not the one saying graphics NOT important or viceversa. As I said before, they're important, like sound, gameplay, story, etc. but they're NOT the MOST important.

And as I recall, Mcguild came in here to troll say "the wii U looks like a console from the past gen". What a nice guy, huh... I seriously can't understand why you have a "problem" with other users and not him. He's the prime example of a closed minded person.

Seriously stop being so close minded about Nintendo and accept we all have different opinions.

PS Exclusives : modnation, LBP, patapon, loco roco, Ratchet and Clank, Daxter and Jak, medievil, Parappa, Fat princess, sly cooper, and thats to mention a more childy/gentler (more to your appeal) type of game.

More mature you have (other than what you said) infamous, god of war.

And if you played those games hundred times before , i dont know in which drugs you are, cause uncharted has less than 6 games, unlike Mario.

You think the Last of Us is a shooter?

Oh boy you've never played any of those games.

It's a crappy shooter.

That better?

Poor imitation of Mcguild.

Close minded about Nintendo? I don't even own a Wii U!

I favor "childy" games? Take a look at my games library and my steam library. You'll find everything in there... puzzle games, shooters, RTS, RPGs, point and click adventures, etc. Every type of game. Know why? Because I love gaming.

Try harder.

I am very conservative with the use of the ignore feature, but he certainly earned his spot on my list.
