Block alla dese (Where I put "through", I mean you need to set it up to block that address as a range of 0 through 255):

69.25.139.188

23.62.236.0 (THROUGH) 23.62.236.255

69.25.139.184

69.25.139.185

69.25.139.186

The address "23.62.236.XXX" changes randomly, so you have to block it as a range or the update will still download.

I'm not using DDRT, so I don't know if I can set it up as an IP range, or else I'd have to enter 256 new firewall entries. These are my options:

I'm not sure if what I had earlier will work, but yeah. I don't want to upgrade my router to DDRT because I don't know if it'll break it or not, so I'd prefer to remain on stock.

You could probably use a bit.ly link to shorten it even more than you already could.

Thats true too

Here's a video of me just briefly showing the menu I slapped together. There's only Wulfy's hello world and fatfil's proof of concept test listed as apps for now as nothing else really exists yet lol.

Do you have a filtering settings area under Firewall Settings? What you're showing me looks like a simple parental controls area (It's only letting you input URL's), and I've noticed those don't usually block IP's very well.

I don't think I do, but if you want to look into it, my model is the Motorola SBG6580.

Edit: Can I have the IP address for the eShop? I want to see if I had it set up nicely before. If I can block myself from the eShop, I'll know if it'll work properly or not.

Edit: So I just attempted to have it block the official Pokémon site. It seems to have failed.

Edit 2: Looks like it doesn't need the http:// in front of it. I'm going to try with an IP address now.

Edit 3: No dice with the IP addresses. I need to find another way.

Woah, I don't follow the modding scene very often. Is there actually a good chance at homebrew soon or something? What version should I keep my WiiU at?

I'm feeling totally stupid, but its best to ask now and not be sorry later

Anyone know how to block those IP's on a D-Link Router? (DSL-2642B to be specific) I'm assuming that you have to go into Advanced settings and blocking the Nintendo IP's in the "Inbound IP Filtering" section, but the options there are confusing me.

Its annoying because there is a nice, simple "Block MAC address" feature right there on the sidebar.

Sorry for the annoyance

That's what i do and I can still access a localhost server to run the hack page. If you don't need to game online then you might try it.

Hey, while we are at it wouldn't it be best to do a smea? (Sandbox mode without Kernel access to just allow Homebrew)

I mean, everyone's free to do what they want. To keep updating this whole thing though, we'd need somebody to have a kernel-level exploit. If that happened, everyone would probably end up getting it one way or another.
Personally, I think kernel-level access is a goal worth working toward, but I also wouldn't want to be the guy who enabled piracy on the wii u.

Also by having the browser broken like this in the first place, people could "easily" find a way to dump the kernel and analyze it themselves. Will a pirate do this? Probably not.

Not completely, CafeOS still reservs ~1GB of memory etc, if we get passed that then its perfect ;)
Filfat, you don't need more than 1 GB for WiiUCraft. :P

A GB of RAM is plenty for the scope of any homebrew we can realistically throw at it.

So, an exploit already existed for Wii U...
I guess from now on Nintendo will fix it in newer consoles for good. And users will have to flash/downgrade to FW <= 5.00 (same story of PS3 with OFW 3.55).
