Will we ever see this? A flashcart able to play 3DS & DS games. Would a future update to existing cards (Gateway, MT-Card) be able to unlock this ability?

I know that's what it does (Currently) could that ever be circumvented?

Think about it, the only way it can be circumvented is if there's a new exploit that doesn't rely on the DS profile. Otherwise, even if it does exist, you would have find a way to install the exploit after you launch it.

that acecard pro was a bit of a scam iirc, it was just a single (crappy) 3ds game chip soldered into a NDS flashcard with a switch, conceptually it would be cool to have the 2 combined so you dont need to have the blue card and red card, but there is much more inside the 3ds flashcards, so im not sure they could fit all the componants of a 3ds flash card and a nds flashcard inside the one card

but if they did, i dont really see the issue, you could use the DS mode in sysnand and to install the exploit and 3ds in emunand

dont forget, that this particular acecard only carries 1 mario game and that cannot be exchanged with any other game.... as already said, it is a scam

I hope this K3ds is real because this website look real. This is the second gen of 3ds flashcards <3

Well my concerns are if they blatantly take GW's code without modification,
if they removed the death code, if they can proceed without the red card.

Also, would the added circuitry cause overheating and whatever not.

and the pricetag.

So far there is no possibility of getting a single "all-in-one" cart for the 3DS/DS. It's almost similar to why the GBA flashcarts can't do GB/GBC straight out of the box. The console itself has a boot protocol, which differs from the idea of a single cart with "all-in-one".

Afaik Gateway red card uses FPGA which can emulate both behaviors and switch between them with a button.

The exploit used by Gateway requires the exploit to be run via a DS flashcart. So far it is not possible for a cart to skip this step. If Gateway made some kind of load screen for booting DS/3DS mode, it'd be a different matter. So far Gateway has shown no indication for an all-in-one solution, but it is not impossible in the future. Only time will tell..
