Just bought the Nyko Pro controller and the buttons seem a bit unresponsive. Just seems I have to press down more than I had to with my gamepad, where I could just tap

haven't charged much yet, BTW. maybe that's why?

Nah he should've waited for the Wii U GameCube adapter because that's the definitive Wii U traditional controller!
