I can't put this in the Computer game and Technology section because this is a site-related issue and nothing to do with my computer, so off topic would be better, I think. But if it needs to be moved, no biggie.

Lately, this site has been experiencing a lot of lag lately, I don't know why, hell, I'll be lucky if this even shows up as thread, it'll probably be a duplicate. Anyway, since yesterday, the site's been acting up and not loading half the pages, I don't know why. First I thought it was my connection, but it's not, as I tried three different computers and three different connections, same thing, it has more lag than it should, I can't even post on the shoutbox without it giving me some random javascript error. I thought that these issues were "resolved" after moving to the new host.

Tried clearing the cache, using ipconfig/flushdns, resetting, nothing worked at all. So by that conclusion, it's not the connections I've been using, it has to be the host being stupid as usual, as I thought these issues were long gone, but this is just ridiculous. Anyone else having these issues with severe lag. Ping tests show 162 ms average

Are these connections using the same ISP? Because I have no issues with the site, here at work or at home or at a few friends' houses. Just did a ping test, average time is 70ms for me. And obviously I'm not the only one, since the shitbox has 4-5 people in it right now and well...there are hundreds of posts being made...lol.

Try changing your DNS server, you can try googles: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, or http://www.opendns.com/ etc etc.

My apartment complex uses the Google Fiber basic, which is only 5 mbps, and my parent's ISP is Comcast at 30 mbps so no, thank goodness they're not the same ISP, I don't understand how it can be fine two days ago and go to shit the next day, that makes no sense to me, and I just tested the site on a proxy, the proxy navigates a lot faster, so there's clearly something really FUBAR going on here. I don't know if the DNS server can really be changed on my end, I don't know enough to screw with it.

shut down? what? why?

in here gbatemp works fine...

The damned thing started up yesterday, but before that, it was fine. I'm not trying to cause panic or make people freak out, I'm just trying to figure out why I'm the only one who has this stupid issue, and why it happens regardless of using different connections (both wireless and Ethernet) in different locations/cities. That makes no sense. Two different connections on two different ISPs should not yield the same results.

So you have had a laggy internet connection for a day so you decide to make a scaremonger thread about it?

Wasn't my intent, sorry it came out that way. I was merely trying to figure out what the cause was, and you're right, there are better ways I could have approached the problem. The weird part is that it happened in two different locations on two different ISPs. Sorry about that :shy:

The latency, the two different locations having the same issue, it made no sense.
