Newegg currently has a Patriot 64gb Class10 for $35.99 plus 20% off code (thru 5/15) which brings it down to $28.80 and free shipping. The card has good user reviews and also a 2 year warranty. I will get one and give it a try but can't beat 64gb for less than $30 all in.

I almost bought an 8GB Samsung microSD today at walmart, for my R4i Gold 3DS (RTS) card I ordered. It's a class 4, but only $10, and my other R4i Gold 3DS (Non RTS) works fine with the 8GB class 4 Sandisk.

Does anyone find Samsung cards to work good?

Got my 64GB samsung plus micro sdxc card today, ran a test already with H2TestW, and the storage capacity is legit, it looks legit too, so i think i got a good one, at a good price!

I always buy SanDisk because I trust them. SanDisk MicroSD 64 GB Ultra Class 10 here working fine with exFAT. I always get SD cards from Amazon directly because I know they are not fakes.

Seems like SanDisk come highly recommended. I was thinking of getting a SandDisk 32GB Class 10, but should it be SDHC or SDXC?

My only Transcend card broke within 6 months, I would stay away from those.
The SanDisk Class 10s work great with the Gateway, I use a 64GB one.

Stay well away from Transcend, anything, my 64GB Premium locked up and broke in 2 weeks!!! I was like WOT! San-Disc Mobile ultra models is what you want.

You probably won't be able to find a 32GB SDXC, since the standard is generally made from 64GB and up. Just like you won't generally find SD cards over 2 GB, since SDHC starts at 4GB. There are exceptions, but from what I've seen, most 64GB cards are automatically SDXC and 32GB at SDHC.

SanDisk or Kingston are good in my experience, but others have a wide range of suggestions too.

SDXC comes preformatted with exFAT and comes in larger sizes, pretty much the only differences that matter to end users. Gateway supports exFAT (in fact it's preferred over FAT) so if that's all you're going to use the card for, it's great. If you plan to share the card for other devices, you may want to stick to SDHC cards unless you're sure. Many XC cards can be reformatted to work on HC only devices, but some devices may not support the larger sizes, so you really just have to know what your devices can use.

Does the class of the MicroSD really matter?
Would a Class 4 (specifically a 16GB Kingston MicroSDHC) experience any problems with speed or lag? Or would it run just like a Class 10?

You would have to wait 10 minutes to freaking write a 1gig rom into a class 4 card. I think they suit DS roms better. Class 10 for 3DS roms.

For the other question, some users reported the 3DS-included Lexar SD card lagged playing eshop-downloaded games and it was Class 2.
