ROM Hack New powersaves 3ds thread

This thread needs to branch out more then Pokemon. Powersaves supports other fun games too you know.

That's because this game is the only reason half of us probably own 3DSs.. I'd have still been playing GBA otherwise. But no ones stopping you from talking about other codes.

Also I wonder if datel ran out of good ideas.. hasnt been anything new in a few days.

i know that with the ACNL codes, i would recommend only using the max out bank money, there is one code that adds money to your person and i did this and one of the bag does not go away, you cant drop it or deposit it anywhere. had this issue back four weeks or so ago. the code is still there but im not testing it out to see if it is fixed.

haha YES! when i heard pokemon x/y was coming out and everyone i worked with was getting it, i didnt want to be left out so i bought a 3dsxl just to be playing what everyone else was playing, i hadnt played a pokemon game since emerald. this one is def. a good one.

I know what that title says which is why I brought it up. Just making others know that this isn't strictly pokemon anymore. The last one was strictly pokemon and we all saw how fast that went to shit, most of it was useless after page 50. Just repeated arguing and re-stating old facts to new people. By making this "new" powersaves thread open to all games that powersaves supports, we get fresher topics and new things to talk about instead of going in circles. This way we get a myriad of different people who've never clicked the old thread because they didn't care about pokemon even though they had a powersave. It also could be a powersave Faqs and guide thread.

Haha, yea.. I think for me i was watching trailers and gameplay vids on it and got the impulse to get it.. so i ran out and picked one up and a copy of X. My only friend that played is stopped after he beat E4, and only had like 50 hours clocked. So I have no one to share these awesome datel hax with, lel. (thats right, I made it on topic )
Although I did trade some Diancie out at a con once.

It is a card2 game, so the same restrictions apply for it. You cannot use Powersaves to swap saves between carts.

Now that this is a open thread~ I wanted to ask; Has anyone tried this device with Disney Magical World? I mean I realize the game just came out; I'm not expecting codes or anything I just want to know if it even works with the device~

I don't own the game, so I've never tried it. It should however allow you to back up/restore saves. Only way to know for certain is to pop in and see though.

Edit: There is always a chance that it may not recognize the cart. It shouldn't harm the cart though.

I don't own the game, so I've never tried it. It should however allow you to back up/restore saves. Only way to know for certain is to pop in and see though.

Edit: There is always a chance that it may not recognize the cart. It shouldn't harm the cart though.

I've put in an unrecognized cart, and it was able to just backup the save file, no issues.

I figured as much. About the only games that it has failed to do that with have been the card2 games. Since I'm not really familiar with game that she mentioned, I figured that I would preface my response the way that I did (even though I doubt it's a card2 game.)

There is only one other card2 game that I know of, but it hasn't been released outside of Japan yet. It is being prepped for release though from what I hear.

I'd love to continue playing in Gateway mode, but my save is on my original cartridge so I'm bound to official Firmware, since it uses the official keys from 6.x if I'm not mistaken. Can I dump my save in official Firmware and write it back in EmuNAND? *)

I'd assume that thing has to be able to de- and encrypt saves when it's able to change values, so it doesn't sound far fetched to me that it's able to re-encrypt a save with the Firmware keys when it's writing it back to the cartridge. And to go a bit farther, if we have the saves as files we should be able to use them for Gateway, shouldn't we? I mean, who likes carrying around carts when we could have all our games on micro SD?

So since you are mentioning Gateway, I'm assuming that the modded 3DS that you are speaking of is one with the Gateway mod. Powersaves backups cannot be used for saves on a Gateway modded 3DS and vice versa. Even though one would think that it should, the encryption carried out on a save processed through a Gateway 3DS is actually different than it would be on an unmodified one (it's actually a bit more complicated, but that's the gist of it.)

The encryption of saves generated by Powersaves is actually generated not on our side, but on Datel's side (most likely using modified 3DS units and custom firmware that allows the modified units to sign our saves for us.) Right now, having a similarly modified 3DS and a custom made program will allow for successful 3DS save editing.

It is worth mentioning that the latest news on the save editing scene of Pokemon seems to be done on a Gateway modded 3DS, but this is just speculation at this point. I say this because no firm details have been leaked about the process and all we have to base this assumption on is a pic where they modified the multiROM GUI.

no they will not have the pentagon if it is prior to gen 6. anything after yes will contain the pentagon.

example. Bulbasaur will not have a pentagon. Froakie will have one using the wondercard method.
