So I was just given a Nintendo Wii by a friend. He said that he bought it off a Walmart and that it stopped working after a while. So the problem with it is that it gets stuck on the Health and Warnings screen and doesn't go any further. I tried pressing the reset and A button while it was turning on and it brings me up to this white screen. It says IOS v80, System menu v513, priiloader v0.4 (r78) and in the very bottom it says Priiloader is a mod of Preloaded 0.30. I try to go to System Menu and it tells me "Error autobooting system menu! the going to load IOS was detected as Stub". I am led to believe that it has been tampered with, so I install homebrew using the Load/Install File option and run it, and I read some articles online that I might need to install system menu again using dop-mii. Well dop-mii has trouble downloading system menu because it was never configured to the internet. I can't get the Mac address to use letterbomb with because it doesn't get past the health and warning screen.

I have no idea what's going on, can anybody help me? It's a US model by the way.

If you have issues in downloading the appropriate tiles on the system itself, use NUS Downloader or go the easy route and use ModMii to prepare a list of WAD's to install. As long as Homebrew Channel is working, the Wii is fully salvagable.

And where can I get modmii? (Or how do I use NUS? Don't I still need the mac address?)

The MAC address is irrelevant, both tools run on PC. You can find ModMii here, it will download all the firmware files you need for your chosen setup and it will prepare a step-by-step guide for you. Here's a related discussion thread if you have any questions regarding ModMii, but it's really designed to be fool-proof, you shouldn't have any issues downloading everything you need.

I got the WAD files using ModMii, I tried installing it using the dop-mii homebrew app and I'm getting a "could not open" error. What other apps can I use to installed WAD files?

It would be great if you posted a sysCheck for us to see before proceeding. For this kind of thing I normally use Multi-Mod Manager. Perhaps our local Wii whizes will be able to help you more than I already have, I'll hail one over.

Use MMM as Foxi4 suggested. Dop-Mii can't install wads directly, and far too often people install the wrong ones because of its weird UI, leading to a brick.

I should have read the first post.
Load Priiloader by holding RESET at startup, go to settings, and change "Use System Menu IOS" to "On".
Done, now it just gets stuck on the Warning-Health and Safety screen. I can't seem to access Priiloader anymore though :/

Turn the whole Wii off and remove the power cord, give it a couple seconds, plug the cord back in and re-try. As Joostin above mentions, there's absolutely no reason why PriiLoader wouldn't switch on when holding the reset button - the system is probably in a reset loop rather than fully powering off.

I read though a thread on another site about Priiloader no longer working after a brick and it happened to quite a few people with no solution found. Are you trying to turn on the Wii with a wiimote or the power button?

Still nothing, does this mean my Wii is now hard bricked?
