On March 20th the highly-anticipated and quite controversial sequel to the Metal Gear Solid franchise, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, will slither onto our last and current gen systems, and to sweeten the deal, PlayStation Blog Europe has announced a pretty interesting promotion.
Anyone who pre-orders Metal Gear Solid V for the PS3 on PSN will also receive a digital copy of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD completely free of charge. That's hitting... two snakes... with one stone! Yeah, that sounds about right.
The promotion lasts until the 20th of March (obviously), so if you plan on getting the game, now would be the best time to order it.

It won't because Peace Walker was in both the HD collection and the Legacy Collection.
Well, I have HD Collection for the PSVita and unfortunately the game wasn't featured in it, so I'm quite happy with this free gift. :P In fact, this made the difference between me buying the game and me pre-ordering it.

2 weeks ago I bought a PS3 with Metal Gear Rising and Legacy Collection.
I literaly have all relevant titles (expect for portable ops) so this offer isn't that much interesting.
I'll buy it anyway.

Weird, I didn't know they made the HD collection for the Vita and I didn't know it was missing Peace Walker, lol

They figured that Peace Walker is available on the PSP and the Vita is compatible anyways so what's the point. This is why I'm missing the HD release, which is a shame.

It would of made more sense to include Solid Snake as a bonus.

Whadyamean? Metal Gear Solid or the MSX titles?
Actually including Peace Walker makes more sense because Ground Zeroes starts where Peace Walker ends (one year after the events of Peace Walker) and many characters you'll see in Ground Zeroes were introduced in Peace Walker.

I thought I made it clear with the [EUR] tag on the thread and plastering PlayStation Blog Europe all over the place - this promotion is only for European PSN users. Sorry for the inconvenience if you ended up buying the game specifically because of the article.

Yes, this offer was only for Europe, hence the Europe tag in the thread. I'm glad that you're not upset, in hindsight, perhaps I should've stressed that more. Enjoy the game! :)

PS: Not writing in caps all the time would be a good idea. In Internet speak it means that you're yelling. :P

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

  • Veho @ Veho:
This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
