Or something like it. So, let's say I wanted to hook my Wii (or Wii U) up to a capture device and recorded some game play, are USB capture devices the best way to go about it? Or, would an actual card be the better way to go when it comes to capturing? I've been looking into it and have found several devices, both in card and USB form, but the overall reviews seem to be pretty mixed, mostly being negative for whatever reasons. I currently have my Wii U hooked to my LED monitor via HDMI and it looks fantastic, but I've been thinking of hooking up my regular Wii to the monitor as well, but via video capture device.
The burning question is, are there any capture devices that allow for smooth playback/framerates without the interlacing issues that are commonplace with these devices? One such device I heard about is the Elgato Video Capture Device - http://tinyurl.com/nxoujp3
Looks decent enough, and has a good overall score and many positive reviews, how good it is for game capture is another story. Next we have the Diamond VC500, which also has a good amount of positive reviews, and at a reasonable price. http://tinyurl.com/of3xa9v
Is it feasible to have video input from a console with a decent framerate and without interlacing anomalies? If so, what are some good, but non-super expensive capture devices? Failing that route, would be it possible to have a set up where the Wii U was connected to the PC monitor with the HDMI input and have a splitter or something that can simultaneously connect a Wii and a Wii U to the LED screen? Thanks
