No that would not be funny! :(

Hope not.

If the chinese leak is accurate this time round like he supposedly was previously with the MT card leak, it could very well be true.

But then again it's all speculation at this time.

BUT... if its accurate, it means that both MT card and GW users are screwed because they are going to be discontinued.

I hope it's not true, but if it is, the meh. Flashcards get discontinued, won't be the first it's happened to or the last.

Risk you take jumping in on the first to come out :).

I would suggest you not to buy any 3ds flashcards right now. Well actually there are some discussion going on at the Chinese forums saying that the team has found the exploits on 6.x. So, my theory is that they are waiting for the 1st generation cards to be cleared from thier factory before releasing 2.0 which I think will support 6.x, and I suppects that multirom support needs revamp of the cards too. That is why they are making "some scenario" to delay the release of 2.0 as long as they can until the 1 gen of cards are cleared(if you know what I mean ;)) . If you ask me why I came out with this is because based on the previous video by them, they did not show us the 3ds firmware version.

But all of these are merely speculation.

Please post a link or it didn't happen.

but that statement is true for anything that cannot be proven

Well. I have to admit I'm to lazy to do an investigation into the chinese dude's claims (you know checking his previous claim's timestamp, referencing it with MT-card release details etc).

But assuming the chinese guy's previous leak was indeed accurate, it makes his new claim quite plausible due to his somewhat short track record of having legit leaks. But I guess time will only tell.

The only rumor I head before MT coming out about a cart with a switch was someone saying that a 2 in 1 ds/3ds cart with a switch was coming out, truth is I guessed about the bricking code when b1 came out does that make all my guesses correct?

it's most likely true, how much time for testing they possibly need? just look at the time between their previous releases, they sure as hell aren't concerned with quality control, get real.

Maybe they had a change of heart? lol

I think it's because they honestly didn't expect their brick code to harm legitimate gateway users, so they're refining that so that it won't anymore.

The claim that the MT-Card is released by the same team as Gateway and is meant to be its successor because they need a new chip for 6.x support does not pan out if you take a moment to think about it.

First of all, the MT-Card has a hardware solution complete with a physical button for multi-rom support. On the other hand, in the multi-rom video from Gateway, they are clearly showing a software solution complete with Home Screen menus for switching between roms. Simply put, if this is meant to be used with the MT-Card, it would clearly make the hardware solution with the button immediately obsolete.

The claim that a new chip is needed for 6.x support is also rather suspect. People have already shown the internal PCB and components of the MT-Card and there is clearly no chip in there that can be used for such a purpose.

Finally the fact that Gateway has referred to the MT-Card in such a derogatory and even hostile manner since day one seriously puts into question any claims that they have anything to gain from MT-Card's success. This is particularly true since what they say still holds a good deal of influence on the decision making processes of people in the 3DS Flashcart community.

A more reasonable explanation to these rumors is that the person leaking the information himself has some sort of stake in the success of the MT-Card which would easily explain how he would know about the new cart with a switch in the first place. Realizing that the release of this inside information to the community would give him some credibility when it proved to be true, he has then decided to spread a bit of false information to discredit the Gateway Cart and at the same time sway people into buying its supposed successor, which according to him is the MT-Card.

This might have been his plan all along or he could have just leaked the information about the card with a switch purely because he has a big mouth and then later realized that he could leverage the credibility he gained through this prediction to his own advantage by spreading false rumors.

Either way, this seems much more reasonable than the alternative which is that this person happens to know so much about the inner workings of the 3DS Flashcart scene yet has no stake in its success, thus allowing him to feel comfortable enough to throw a wrench and potentially ruin all the plans of the conspirators by divulging their secrets.

This incidentally would likely earn him the ire of people who are already in a shady, and some would argue, criminal line of business who would probably have ability to root out exactly who this individual is by the nature of the information he is divulging. All this for five minutes in the spot light and a little bit of notoriety in the 3DS Flashcart online community.

yo that chinese post is just a shady game store owner trying to clear his 6.1 fw 3DS stock. why are people trusting a random guy on the chinese internet, is it because people are getting desperate?

i bought a gateway last week, and, as long as a free solution doesn't come out in a month or two, i won't regret it really because, even if i were to spend $100 on the card (i didn't), i can play thousands of dollars worth of games, for that one price.

Maybe I sell my gateway and bought a mt-card, who knows if the gateway team arent just waiting to sell their stock cards and then leave the current one without support and take a new most advanced and most expensive with most advanced brick codes.

Pd. Sorry bad English.

Thanks for all the replies! I actually forgot that I made this thread until recently. :)

I have decided to wait for a while and see what developments arise. Thanks once again for everyone who contributed information/opinions.
