Game looks really good but I would not call it a spiritual successor to Mega Man Zero looks nothing like the Mega Man Zero neither the gameplay or anything like it, there would need to be a laser sword of some kind since that was Zero's signature weapon.

For the "reporters" who are saying they're working on this and not Might No. 9, in your "reporting" did you ever pay attention to company names?
Like how Might is by Comcept and Gunvolt is Inti Creates?
Inafune is working on both, but they're not being developed by the same company.

youve got to be kidding. The game looks like someone hacked ZX Advent and replaced the sprites with his own..

inafune was at capcom when x5 happened, and legends 2, and the whole battle network run, and command mission, and zx series, and maverick hunter psp

and he was this close to getting MMX remade as an FPS

but now he is acting like the hero, the champion of mega man fans
gotta love it..

So they're designing this and putting it out before finishing the game people paid them 4 million dollars to make?

Welp. Can't say you're inspiring much in the way of confidence here, guys.

Oh well you know, aside from Mighty #9 going to multiple platforms such as PC, consoles and what not, and the fact that Kickstarters got to vote a character into the game, those who did pay a certain amount have a guaranteed copy, and it most certainly is destined for western shores first, yeah I'm pretty sure I missed something along the way

Are you suggesting that Legends 2, MMBN, MMXCM, ZX, and Maverick Hunter are all bad?
Because you're gonna get a LOT of flac for that.

Also being around when those games are being produced/developed doesn't mean he had any say in them.

Personally I see no problem with it. They got 4mil so they might as well work on other projects, the game does look awesome from what it was shown, good ost and nice gameplay.

The problem with that line of thinking is, they got 4 million for that one project. Taking money expressly donated for one game and putting it towards another would be fraud. And that's terrible.

It's not like they're not working on the other game, heck, it's probably different people working on the game, the only thing that might piss some people is the fact that unlike the other game, this one will be exclusive to the 3DS.

It's kind of shifty to collect 4 million dollars in donations for a project and then put priority on a completely separate game. I think it'd be a different matter if they had at least been open and announced this before the Kickstarter, but announcing this six months or so after the fact? Like I said, kinda shifty.

inXile is a good example of how to handle this. In their Kickstarter for Torment, they were completely open about the studio's development process and how both games would fit into that. Plus, Wasteland 2 is still the top priority and is still being released first.

They're not even the same company though... it's two separate developers.
EDIT: I did not realize that Inti Creates is a co-developer for Might No. 9. Regardless, ever heard of multiple teams/projects? Companies do it all the time.

Inti Creates is just assisting, Mighty No. 9 is not their main project, nor were they the ones that created the Kickstarter for Mighty No. 9.
Comcept's only game (right now) is Mighty No. 9.

Also I really am failing to see how this isn't a spiritual successor on Zero/ZX, just because you didn't see a z-saber of sorts doesn't void the fact that it's a spiritual successor. Mega Man Zero wasn't about the z-saber alone.

Guess Bayonetta isn't a spiritual successor to Devil May Cry because it doesn't feature the Devil Trigger mechanic.

I imagine a spirit successor to a Mega Man game would have the name Mega Man in it.
So they're designing this and putting it out before finishing the game people paid them 4 million dollars to make?

What game? Is there a secret Mega Man game that should be released but hasn't been?

You're rather over thinking this. These games are quite vastly different from each other. While Gunvolt was led by a Japanese company, and releasing the game on Japanese shores first (at the moment anyways), it's a high speed high action game and made very much catering to their tastes (Gamefaqs can't get enough of the midriff protagonist:blink:), as well as them working with Nintendo to get the game out soon, Mighty #9 is led by Comcept LLC, the North American side, having its development process involving North American fans, while using Unreal engine and has had the north american fans involved during its campaign, bringing features such as online modes and extra's.

2 different games, 2 different audiences, one going handheld, the other nearly every platform out there, thinking that Comcept funneled funds to IntiCreates to create this game is very much over thinking it (Inafune has another 3DS game in development with another publisher). Of course, I can't refute the possibility that some Mighty funds might have found their way into Gunvolt's development, but it seems to me Gunvolt was strictly catering to the Japanese audience, while Mighty #9 is intended for the western audience.

For the "reporters" who are saying they're working on this and not Might No. 9, in your "reporting" did you ever pay attention to company names?
Like how Might is by Comcept and Gunvolt is Inti Creates?
Inafune is working on both, but they're not being developed by the same company.
Meaning the lead designer is working simultaneously on two Megaman-related projects instead of focusing on finishing one job before starting another. Also, there's no need for quotation marks - using those implies that the reporters you speak of are self-proclaimed. They're not, they're actual reporters. :)

You missed the section where it talks about these as related to the Mega Man series.
Where?
Plus it doesn't matter if it's related to the series or not. It's a spiritual successor. Xenosaga is a spiritual successor to Xenogears and they're in the same universe.

And more specifically, the one Gahars was talking about in his post.

Either that or a really bad attempt at trolling. I mean, honestly, how could any sane person not know about the game that would be made using Kickstarter funds raised for it?
What? What does this have to do anything with what you said about it not being a spiritual successor?
