Much thanks to anyone that can provide some support!

Trying to use my Wii a little more these days. It's been a long time since I have touched it. I'm pretty much a noob in the Wii scene. If this is wrong section I apologize, but there are a couple things I would like to fix. I'm trying to get GX Loader on the main screen. I installed the forwarder but found it won't work without IOS58. I don't know how to install that. I read if I update to that then I would have to install the HBC again? My other issue is I burned a couple backups on DVD-R to play. USb backups work fine. On the main menu it reads the disc, but when I click to play I get this message:

An error has occured. Press the Eject Button, remove the Game Disc, and turn the power off. Please read the Wii operations manual for more information.

This occurs for DKC Returns and Zelda: Twilight Princess

I grabbed a syscheck log for you guys:

Follow Mauifrog's guide and install the cIOS pack he provides there.

Also, IOS58 only gets installed if you upgrade to 4.3 which you shouldn't.

not sure why 4.3 is so hated i enjoy it (no region free .. hahah there is more then one way) and anyway its easy to switch system menu with wads and a wad installer.

but its just as easy to get the wad for ios58 as it is any system menu wad using NUSD http://wiibrew.org/wiki/NUS_Downloader

or MODMii http://modmii.zzl.org/

when using NUSD don't forget to check the pack as wad check box and install with preferred wad installer.

on another note ... since the OP , esc1 , says ' I'm pretty much a noob in the Wii scene' ... i would recommend http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/101209384/MasterPiece/Wiiflow_Pack.html as well

You should just use ModMii to update ALL your game IOSs. Not only are the all outdated, you are also missing IOS57.
If you use the original ModMii (white text on blue background) on download page one type I to mark the active games IOSs and also PR for the system menu IOSs then on download page four type REC to mark the recommended cIOSs. You should grab HM (HackMii installer) and MMM (MultiMod Manager) from page 2, MMM to install the wads and HackMii installer to run afterward to update HBC to 1.1.2 running on IOS58.
OR use ModMii Skin and tell it you are modding for first time, on 4.1U want to stay at 4.1 (get shop channel if you want but skip themes and USB loading) and it will collect all the files for you. I'd skip transferring the private folder to SD as you don't need the Letterbomb exploit to launch MMM.
Your current setup doesn't have IOS236, you have a patched IOS36, so use that, 249 or 250 to install wads.

The Disc Channel can display the banner from your backup disc because your SM is patched however the IOSs the games use are NOT, nor do you want them to be so it gives you an error when trying to play backup disc. If the disc was burned correctly a backup loader like Neogamma or even a USB loader like GX (icon looks like a disc and says mount drive when hovering over top of it), CFG or WiiFlow can play a backup disc.

Why not use IOS58 installer?
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS58_Installer

It's not installing the latest version, but it's the easiest method if you want only USBLoaderGX.
If you want to play Gamecube with nintendont, you'll need to use NUSD link above, or modmii (or any other method) to download the latest IOS58 on your computer as wad format and install it to your Wii using a wad manager.

Thank you guys a lot for your suggestions. I'll probably get to work on it this weekend.

Be sure to install Priiloader before doing anything and bootmii as hell, if you can install bootmii as boot2 its strongly advised to do so.
