PPSSPP is tempting and I am sure I will end up using it. However my goal will be to find a way (if it isn't fixed by the time this drops anyway...) to get it running on my Vita in the eCFW. DAT OLED is too nice to pass up. Otherwise I will be playing in PPSSPP and on my PSP 2000.

I didn't even realize the vita had been cracked in any way yet. If it doesn't require too much tinkering I'm gonna do that myself. I love the Sony CFW stuff (and the DS also but mostly just all Sony devices because of the power) and will buy a vita just for CFW and homebrew if (when) the scene goes anywhere.

Thanks for the heads up! Hopefully I can find some info

Oh shit, yeah, I also liked Phantasy Star, too bad, my save file from the english version of 1 can't be imported to Infinity.

You can if you convert that save into a JP save file. I had someone do that for me to be able to import my PSP2 US save into Infinity.
I never did previously because I wanted to be able to connect to PSN and didn't want any issues but now with pro you can go back and forth between OFW and CFW in seconds. Love it

With PRO, you can connect to PSN just fine with it running. I've been doing that for years with PSP2/Infinity. Speaking of which...
I second this! Played the life out of the original PSP2. Shame that Japan doesn't release their stuff out here. Maybe they shouldn't have released the original version here, wait for Infinity to come out, then release That one, in case it was a money/time problem. Not sure how it works. :( I love extra content

Third.

The limitation right now is that it requires an official game from PSN in order to use and then it is only PSP homebrew/isos that can run. Unfortunately all of the games have been pulled from the store at this point. (unless you can get a vita on an older firmware and then not update it and use a PS3 to transfer the exploit game) If you are interested in getting one of the future exploits your best bet is to get a Vita and then join Wololo.net forums. They announce the games in what are called "ninja" releases where they announce the name of the game to their forums in waves in order to allow users to download it prior to Sony pulling the game from PSN.

I myself got in with the last one (which was actually a leaked release) and am running TN-V7.3 via Fifa Soccer 11 for PSP.

Thank you very much. I'll keep an eye out. I'll have to check which firmware is needed. It might work because I haven't really used my vita (thus haven't updated it) in at least 4 months+.

I'm totally cool with it just being able to run PSP ISO's. Thanks for the heads up!

Hey Sky and team! I've been tracking you guys' project for a year now and figured I may as well make an account to thank all of you personally. It's interesting seeing how this project has impacted the PSP CFW landscape, and it will be even more interesting to see how it affects Square's handling of future Agito software.

I've played a decent chunk of the game in Japanese, but I only know English and a moderate amount of Spanish, so I really had little clue what was going on in the story and menus. What I have experienced of the gameplay is special, and it's a shame Western gamers haven't had a chance to experience this title yet, and you guys are making that possible. I wish I'd have found this place earlier, as I'd have loved to help with graphics and proof-reading, haha, but you guys have done a beautiful job with it. I'm sure I speak for many lurkers out there when I say we really appreciate and actively (yet patiently) anticipate this translation. You are all awesome!

Did the Vita ever get an update to be used with the merged ISO? I lost my PSP Go a while ago and was lucky enough to get my vita working for CFW, so it would be a waste if I can't rip both UMD's and use the merged file on a vita.

I'm interested in hearing about this too. I didn't even think that it might have needed an update to work with a 2gb ISO so I'm glad you mentioned it.

Total_Noob said he was looking into it on the Wololo forums. He hasn't updated us on the topic since then and no update for TN-V is available yet.

Bottom of this page if you want to read the response from him yourself:

Currently no the eCFW will not support games over 2GB (merged iso does not work...) It has been said several times though that when demand is high they will work towards a solution. As you can imagine demand will likely be high real soon haha. What I understand needs to be done is that either the Inferno driver will need to be ported to eCFW or a new driver will need to be created for this case.

I think Total noob is the only one that can make the inferno driver for TN-V though since he hasn't released (To my knowledge at least) the TN-V source.

Yea that is what I was referring to... I have been following the topic pretty closlely for the last few months since I really want to play on my Vita as opposed to my PSP2000 and have seen a few topics come up whether asking specifically about the Type-0 translation or just games over 2GB in general. Every time Total Noob or someone who has already seen his response lets everyone know that they will see what can be done when the demand is high.

Looking forward to this no matter what... I'd just much prefer to play on my Vita than PPSSPP or my PSP 2000.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll be keeping an eye on this. I prefer playing on my vita, the screen is great ;) And it helps to have a second analog stick! With some games, it can be mapped to the D-Pad and act like the camera.

As much as I like having CFW on my Vita, it's pretty much just a gimmick to me until I can figure out how to get PSP save data OFF the sucker.

Its really easy to get it off. You can FTP it, or transfer it back through the expliot save, can't you?

I really don't know. It's like when putting an iso file on, it doesn't just play automatically right? It gets copied/installed to some location first. (At least, that's how I remember it working....) So when it creates a save file, I don't think it creates it in the exploit save folder.

Yeah it just gets installed. but with the saves, no it doesn't save it in the exploit's folder, but if you use the PSP File Manager then you can copy whatever content you need back to the exploit game's save folder.

PSP save files can just be transferred from your Vita to your PC via Content Manager Assistant.

Bwuh? I've had to use CMA to install PRO, and if it isn't tied to a game, CMA doesn't see it. Where would I look for the save files created after running an exploit, for games that Vita tries to ignore with all its heart and soul?

I have used CMA to transfer my save data from the Dangan Ronpa fan translation from my Vita to my PSP and back and forth.... really easy to do and surprisingly it has worked with all the games I have done it with... regardless of whether they were official or modified. Even shows the picture for the game (that is not officially supported lol) inside the Vita OS when transferring the saves.
