Okay, let me state this loud and clear, since that's the only thing that seems to work here. This is the abridged version of Delroth's post.

people are gonna put it down because they havnt done it or released it themselves. at the end of the day SOME progress is better then none (you dont just start a race half way through and finish 2 minutes later) look at what marcan has been saying from the begining WERE TOO DUMB and the triicore team are wasteing there time.... im pretty sure that along the lines of marcans words.......i think everyone should take what marcan says with a pinch of salt

Why are you guys wanting to run emulators on the WiiU GamePad with a WiiU hack when you'll most likely be able to sync the GamePad to a PC and run everything on it instead in the near future? Either that or you can buy one of those things that look like a GamePad but runs Android. I prefer the former since it'll enable me to run PS2 and GC games while being comfy.

Face it, the emulation scene on the WiiU would never be that good anyway.

because if we wanted to use it on the pc....... we would....... lol...... and how can you say that with 3 cores and an exploit were not gonna get a decent ps1/n64/ds emulator and maybe an updated more capable dvd player/media centre. hmmmm i think ur wrong to b honest. ive seen ps1 emulator running smoothly and im sure thats with just one core

I said you talked LIKE it was easy, didn't mean to say you actually said it was.

I'm here because why not? Nothing's keeping me from posting. I want to buy a WiiU in the near future and it being exploitable/hackable/warez-able is a concern to me.

This is nice, but ultimately useless as you'd need to dump the fuseset to get the keys used by the bootrom itself to decrypt the rest of the bootchain.

I want a WiiU for it's near-future lineup of games, and some current. I never buy consoles at launch, I wait until the games I want are released.

Now why is it a concern to me? If I get this started it'll end on another piracy discussion, so let's not touch there.

Considering that it took f0f 8 days to get this, and it took us over a year (with help!) I don't think this is going to end well.

Or just buy the Wii U, along with Mario 3d, Call Of Duty, and Mario Kart 8 (when it's out) and have about the same amount of fun.

Well, it's a step...
Those ps3 websites look like tabloids. At least this time, it's not a crappy video or a bruteforcer (this one was really funny!).
I wish people could read and had more common sense too. Unfortunately, most prefer an article with a photoshopped pic over blogs by real hackers (like marcan's or delroth's).

Well, after this giant flamewar with everyone getting all freaked out about piracy, maybe I should set things straight.

Basically this, the Boot ROM literally does NOTHING right now, we just need it to figure out where the keys are so we can get them and finally decrypt stuff. Only then will we be able to exploit it fully and start working on something to support homebrew. And if you want to take it from us, we have every means to limit piracy while still allowing a homebrew platform, we don't like it anymore then you do.

It didn't take close to a year to do anything, marionumber1 and I were working on it for probably 8-10 days as well. We had it EASY since we had information on how it works and what we had to do to get it, it was all about the timing. A year means nothing other then nobody had cared enough to try until now.
