What would keep Nintendo in business is selling their games at $30 at launch and their systems for less than $200. As they stand they are far too overpriced for their content (or lack thereof). It's laughable that a 2.5D DK sidescroller 20 years later is going for $60.

They spend so freaking little on production that what's killing them is greed.

I never said games arn't overpriced, I live in Australia, generally we pay $90-$120 for new releases when we are almost 1-1 with the USD.... you don't need to tell me man.

My point was Piracy won't increase sales, and it won't.

means that it is a working progress (if this is true) the only reason i doubt this is because bubba and harry have there claims on it (and im guessin harry has posted the bootrom picture of the gamepad) clearly just some photo shop shit. also while puttin others names forwud claiming thanks to maxternal/marcan/delroth/joostin exc but yet joostin has said he knew and knows nuffin of it??? hmmmm sounds all abit fishy after having the four horseman (harry and bubba) with thier claims....

i see , but with the release of a system mod it is mainly going to be used for the reason of playing backups " no i am not interested in running linux on my console because i already do on my pc !" or run emulators because my pc does that really well .

and let us face it the wii u needs this to happen to boost the sales of units , because i am no longer going to shell out 60$ or 50$ for a mario/donkey kong game.

Let's not fight okay? I know it's not my job to tell you guys that but still. Seeing to (according to you guys) 'grown men' fight like this over the internet is pretty fun, but not here.

So far it seems pretty cool that we have a dumped boot rom, but what could we do with only the bootrom? I'm far more interested in homebrew this time, seeing what the Wii-U and the gamepad can do together.

I had my doubts to especially when seeing bubba was the first in the credits with what happend last time., but after reading, it seems to be legit. btw the main people behind this are Maxternal and MarioNum1 iirc.

I spent $68 on it and it was money that couldn't have gone towards a better game (that I don't already have, ofcourse).

What needs to be done now before we can give away our homebrews on the street?
Once a custom bootrom comes out, I doubt we'll be able install it without messing with the internals, so will we have to be waiting on an exploit to get a custom bootrom running or can it just be as simple as launching a homebrew app to do it for us on vWii?

As a complete Layman in the field, I have no idea how anyone can do stuff like this. It's so fascinating though, that people can find a vulnerability in a piece of hardware.. and to top it off can't be fixed with a firmware update and isn't encrypted. It means eventually we will be able to play a bunch of worthless children's games and a few subpar Nintendo releases absolutely free!

Or just buy the Wii U, along with Mario 3d, Call Of Duty, and Mario Kart 8 (when it's out) and have about the same amount of fun.

You should import your games from the UK ...there half the price ...or less ...including postage!
