Hello, i'm having a bit of trouble here...

I have followed this guide: Removing cIOSCorp/DARKCORP [THE EASY WAY]

I did download the iOSes from ModMii, installed the WAD files with MMM but when I put in a burned game it tells me (everytime I repeat the uninstallation process) in te disc channel that a Wii System Update is available. So I do it and then the burned backup loads up again.

My backup is a Modded copy of MW3 for Wii.

I have softmodded my Wii only. I did that with LetterBomb.

BootMii is installed as iOS.

The DARKCORP uninstaller doesn't work. It says "Downloading files from NUA" or something like that but gets stuck at 0% or tells me "Exception 0: Failed to initialize device! Press A to restart and restart the installer." or something close to that.

Please help.

(By the way my Wii is from 2008.)

I'm having problems understanding what it is you want to do exactly.

The only reason darkcorp was any good was when you wanted to play burned discs from the disc channel. But since newer wiis (not yours) cannot play burned discs due to different hardware and loading games from USB is better anyway, darkcorp is pretty much null and void.
However, you want to get rid of darkcorp and then do exactly the one thing it was good at. That is...pretty strange (what do you want, exactly? not being able to play backup discs? or backups at all?). But not half as strange as that after installing proper IOS'es and a system update, your burned backup still works. The only reason I can think of is that the early wiis had a wide variety of drives that were either very picky as to what brand of custom DVD's you used or very liberal. Until someone comes with a better suggestion, I'd say you have a very rare wii drive that just plays burned backups from the box.
EDIT: hmm...there's another explanation: that the image you used for MW3 is altered to have cIOS'es on it with a high version number.

Perhaps a bit of technical info might help. Think of your computer. Aside the operating system, it has a BIOS which handles basic input and output. A wii has this as well. Even more interesting: it has MULTIPLE BIOS'es. Clean, nintendo-created ones are called IOS'es, custom ones (hacked ones or community created ones, such as from darkcorp) are called cIOS. These all have a version number. And at certain points (e.g. when you put a disc in a drive or when you connect it to the internet), it will do some checks. It will compare the versions of the (c)IOSes that are installed on your wii with the ones on the disc/nintendo's servers. If the latter ones have a higher number, it will pop up a message of a firmware update. Which pretty much comes down to installing all the more recent (read: containing higher version numbers) IOSes from said disc/server onto your wii.

There is also some very important thing to know, btw (sorry if you already know this, but this is fucking important to stress): NEVER UNINSTALL AN IOS OR CIOS UNLESS YOU'RE 100% SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING! AND I MEAN 100%!

As said: these are your basic input and output. While your system menu (read: the 'operating system') technically only needs one, uninstalling it will seriously brick your wii. As such, all 'uninstallers' out there tend to grab clean IOS'es from the net and install those over the previously installed cIOSes.

So in theory, if you have all the IOS'es from modmii in the form of wads (and modmii is updated enough to certainly have all the latest ones) and install all of those, darkcorp should be "removed" (I prefer "overwritten").

Again: I don't know how that game is still playable after an update (or how there's a firmware update in the first place). I can guide you how to disable all update warnings if you want, but if you want to make this wii as clean from homebrew as possible, it's not the direction to go.

PS: IOS'es is generally written in all caps. This isn't an apple operating system. ;)

Hi :)

About my drive, I had a problem with it once so I got the motor and drive (I guess) replaced. However, it wasn't replaced by Nintendo but by some Video Game shop.

I just want my Wii all clean from any softmod. I want to have it nice and clean. If you could help me doing that, it would be awesome :)

Bye :)

Bump.
