Hacking Pokemon X/Y Retail Save Question

Hey guys, ive been a long time lurker of these forums and i finally decided to make an account. I've been running Gateway 2.0b2 on my 3DS since release with no problems at all. I recently acquired a 3DS XL on 4.5 fw.

I understand that the emuNAND and realNAND use different encryption save methods, so if I were to pop in my cartridge into a legit 7.1 3DS, my save would be corrupted. Now, lets say I've been playing X on emuNAND classic mode with my old 3DS, would I be able to do the same with my new XL running emuNAND without corrupting my current save? Or can the save only be played on the emuNAND it was originally played on? I really hope gateway is working on the saving issues for their final 2.0 release.

To be clear:
Your questions is if your Pokemon X on your 3DS (played on 7.1) can be now played on your 3DS XL (emunand classic mode).

If that is your question, the answer is no.
(I know because I tried)

Explanation:

For Pokemon X & Y, (or any game running on 7.x encryption keys)
No 7.x <-> 4.x emunand swapping.
 
It can only be read on the 'firmware' it was originally started on.

When it comes to Pokemon questions,
(Other users might ask the next ones will probably be :
"Can Pokebank work on 4.x GW/R4i/MT Emunand...." :
Presently No

"Can Pokebank on 7.x read cart played on 4.x":
Haven't been able to test, but my intellectual guess is "No"

"Can Pokebank be used with flashcarts":
Gen V definitely needs retail carts. Gen VI... at this point no, as Pokebank doesn't function with emunand

"Can hacked Pokemon pass Pokebank"
Depends on your skill level. If it fails Pokecheck, don't bother. (if it still gets through, good for you.)

"Save editor for Gen VI"
Presently No

"GTS spoofer/faker for Gen VI"
Presently No

"When will Gen VI be hacked"
Check my crystal 8 ball and find out.

"Pokemon X and Y has been out for a long time now,
Pokemon Platinum/Black/White 2 had AR/Cheats within a week,
when is it coming out?"
Different console, and the console kernel is presently accessible to only those who
know (or have an idea) of what they are doing.
There won't be any any time soon.

Thanks for the info but my question is exactly what Steena said. Can i switch from regular 3DS emuNAND to my 3DS XL's emuNAND with my Pokemon X retail cartridge without save corruption

It's fine if it's both emunand
(emunand operates on 4.x after all, it will be 4.x <-> 4.x)

You can just try it yourself.
Pokemon is the one game that doesn't automatically delete your save file after showing
"save file is corrupted".

Simply put the cartridge in.
If it shows your player information, it means you can simply proceed

While we are in on these pokemon questions.
I'm trying to get my Pokemon Y to work with Gateway 7.1 emuNAND.
Pops up telling med some bull with:

"The saved game data is corrupted. Refer to the electronic manual for details."

Would it work to use this:

Incase anyone was wondering, i can confirm there are no issues with saves switching between 2 different emuNANDs. The only thing is i need to re add friend safaris.

Still does not answer my question about how and if Pokemon X/Y is operational with GATEWAY in any way! T_T
