Hacking Pokemon Black/White 2 not working

I'm running into a weird problem with my DSTWO. It runs most games fine, but Pokemon Black and White 2 won't work. The game will start up, play the intro movie, but when it hits the title screen, the screen just goes black, and the title screen music plays slow and distorted. No button inputs work, and I can't get past this. I've tried using a clean and AP patched rom, and reformatted the SD card to see if that would work (it didn't). Is there something special I have to do to run this particular game?

Wait, can I install an R4 kernel on a DSTWO? That seems counter intuitive...

no use the program to reformat the dstwo card using the settings and see if that works.

Oh, I'm sorry, I misunderstood. Yes, I tried formatting my SD card with that program earlier today. It didn't fix the problem.

Where did you get the ROM from, some of the black/white 2 ROMs floating around the internet are a bit broken. Try downloading mawile's white 2 ROM, ive forgotten what the black 2 one's called.
EDIT: iRil's is the black 2 ROM
